The space
Deceleration, fresh air, nature and a private spa with steam sauna and hot tub, good food, lots of peace and quiet, some adventure that awaits you in our cottage ...
The cottage is furnished in country style and many of the furniture is made of the wood we recycled during the renovation. The small kitchen offers space for everything you want to conjure up at the stove. Here they cook on gas and in copper pots. Or use one of the two BBQ places with swivel grill and A La Plancha grill plate, dining table, armchairs and fire bowl for a cozy evening by the campfire. A BBQ equipment is hanging on the door in your cottage. The country inn "Antikhof Bissee" with fine cuisine can be reached in 5 minutes on foot. Fresh eggs from Bauer Hamann and real country milk from Bauer Horst are also available in Bissee. Firewood for the stove is available at the house. Or you can cut your own wood in the wood storage at the forest or directly at the cottage, if you feel like physical exercise.
The outdoor bathtub is supplied with hot water, so you can enjoy the view from the warm tub from your wooden terrace to the outdoors or the starry sky. Deer, white-tailed eagles, wild geese and ducks are your only bathers.
If it's too cold for you to swim in the open air, enjoy the view of the landscape while you stand under the shower, which has more than enough room for two. Or you can start your private steam room, which is integrated into the shower, and do a few sauna sessions - also overlooking the Griebenmoor.
In summer, it is recommended to cool down in Bothkamper See, which is directly adjacent to our property. Towel over the shoulder, a cold drink on ice in the tin bucket, and bathing in the lake becomes a real experience. If you prefer it sportier, you can also take the canoe and explore the whole lake. The swimming spot is 150m from your house.
Rent the two bikes, of course free of charge and take a bike tour through the beautiful landscape of Schleswig-Holstein Switzerland.
Discover the 36,000 sqm plot, pick fruit from the trees and bushes or collect the wild herbs – e.g. for dinner, lie on the giant swing at the edge of the forest and let your soul dangle, or chill something in the hammocks.
Listen to music from the plate, play a board game, or read a book while the fire burns in the oven. Turn off and listen to the sound of the wind and cranes and wild gooses outside.

Where you’ll be

Bissee, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

We live in a protected landscape area surrounded by lakes, forests and rivers and the small town of Bissee with its 178 inhabitants. Nature is unique here and there's plenty to see. A pair of eagles lives in the forest, which glides along the edge of the forest several times during the day, supported by the thermal system. Wild geese, ducks and other waterfowl take off and land on Lake Bothkamp.
If you get up early in the morning, you can see the deer standing on the flock or in the reeds and grazing.
Bothkamp Castle is within walking distance. The small town of Bissee with the fine restaurant "Antik Hof" with open fireplace, wonderful cake offer and Holsteiner regional cuisine is 5min away on foot.
In Bissee you can take a look at the various works of art exhibited in the village, which are exhibited each year by artists.
If you need some infrastructure, you can drive to Bordesholm, 7 minutes away, where there is a weekly market (Saturdays 0700 - 1300), 3 supermarkets, post office, savings bank, train station, pharmacy and various doctors.
The nearest neighbours are the residents in Bissee, about 300m away or the residents of the Stakenkate am See and the Jägerhof in the direction of Hof Siek. Both about 500m away.
Otherwise, there is not much around our house except tranquility, much tranquility ...

Hello, we are Roman & Hildi, my little dog. I have renovated this little thatched house in the midst of nature and created a place where you can really relax and slow down. I gradually convert the 36000 square meter property into an evening-end world where you can experience all sorts of things. I have been living here since 2018 and hope you like it as much as we do...
