This charming heritage 1847 home is located in the heart of The County overlooking the Picton harbour. Situated on a 1/2 acre lot with outdoor dining, fire pit and hot tub plus a tandem kayak/SUP and canoe for your water adventures. A short walk to Main St. where there are boutiques, cafes, restaurants, patios, craft breweries and much more! Walk to the trails at Macaulay Mountain or take a short drive to the beautiful beaches of Sandbanks Provincial Park or the areas many wineries and cideries.

The space
This limestone 1847 harbour home ‘The Owens House' is famous for its trapezoidal shape (only 8 like it in Canada) and has been renovated to preserve the history of the home while providing modern custom features. The Owens House combines centuries-old charm with modern comforts and designer details, featuring an eclectic mix of modern farmhouse, vintage and boho styles.

On the main floor, the kitchen features espresso cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and bright windows overlooking the harbour and backyard. The great room features a natural gas fireplace which creates the perfect atmosphere for romance and relaxation on cooler nights. Custom built-in cabinetry flanks the back wall and is where you’ll find family games and a vast book collection as well as a desk for the travelling professional. The great room also includes a dining area with seats for eight. The family room is a large, sun-soaked space with vaulted ceilings and a skylight which offers a flat screen TV-viewing area and comfortable seating overlooking the landscaped yard, and entrances to both the side porch and BBQ/stone patio/hot tub areas. An updated 2-piece bathroom is also located on the main floor.

Upstairs features three well-appointed bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen and 1 Full & 1 Twin) and a comfortable sitting room for reading, relaxing or movie-watching on the Queen sofa bed. The home sleeps up to nine (6 adults and 3 children under 10 years of age). The newly completed spa bathroom features heated floors, double vanity, sunken soaker tub and a 6-foot rainfall glass shower. The bathroom connects to a walk-in custom laundry area featuring a Whirlpool Washer/Dryer, ironing board and clothes racks.

This home is set on a beautifully landscaped 1/2-acre lot with lush gardens, interlocking stone patio, patio furniture, BBQ, new 5 person hot tub, chiminea fire pit, paved circular driveway and large garage/workshop which sits at the back of the lot. The front walkway leads to the street where you can cross to Picton Harbour (200 meters away) and can enjoy a stroll on the boardwalk, have a bite to eat, fish, dock your boat or charter one. We provide use of a tandem stand-up paddleboard/kayak as well as a canoe so you can get out on the water and enjoy Picton Bay!

This heritage house is centrally located in The County, meaning boundless access to entertainment and amenities by foot, bike or a scenic drive. The Crystal palace and Macaulay Mountain are about 1km away, with the latter boasting 20km of hiking trails and the famed Birdhouse City. It is a short drive to Sandbanks Provincial Parks (20 min), Lake on the Mountain (8 min), cheese factories, festivals and all The County has to offer. Enjoy warm summer days and nights lounging under the trees on the patio or sitting by the campfire.

We provide our guests with a Sandbanks Provincial Park Pass so you can beat the lines and spare the cost. Linens, bath towels (indoor use only), kitchenware, tea and coffee. Please bring beach towels for outdoor use including the hot tub.

Highspeed WiFi, 3 cable TVs with Netflix and Prime Video, a five-person hot tub, Sandbanks Park Pass, tandem kayak/stand-up paddleboard (SUP), canoe with trolley, 4 lifejackets (3 adult and 1 child), chiminea fire pit, cornhole and various board games are also provided with your stay.

The Owens house is a peaceful getaway from the pace of everyday life; it’s a place to disconnect and reconnect with family and friends in absolute comfort. Make this your home base for your PEC adventures. We look forward to hosting you.
