A self contained one bedroom annexe with private entrance, attached to this amazing chapel style barn, containing bits of Salisbury Cathedral. A real head turner of a space and property in the middle of this idyllic village. A short walk to the nearby Three Horseshoes pub. The space has a bedroom where you can fling the doors open to the wisteria covered terrace, shared with owner but primarily for guests use. A welcome hamper of the basics is provided upon request.

The space
If your tastes are for something more alternative, then the mysterious and magical place that is Glastonbury and its infamous Tor are only 15 miles away.

Other places of sight-seeing and historical interest include: Longleat House and Safari Park, the world famous garden at Stourhead (National Trust), Stonehenge, Avebury Stone Circle and Wells Cathedral.

The wonderful Jurassic Coast, think Lyme Regis, Burton Bradstock, Abbotsbury is an hour away while the beautiful and bustling cities of Bath and Bristol are less than 25 miles down the road.

The Newt at Somerset has just opened its gates after many years of investment and landscaping. It's gardens, restaurants and Cyder Press are proving very popular with our guests.

The Bath & West Showground with all its various exhibitions is less than 15mins away.
Three bedroom converted barn, recently restored offering a tranquil setting for those seeking refuge from the hurly burly of modern life. We're situated in the middle of nowhere yet only 1.5 miles from the village of Batcombe and under 10 minutes car journey from the chic town of Bruton and the thriving independent town of Frome - the latter hosts a hugely popular Sunday market on the first Sunday of each month from March onwards.

Location

Batcombe, England, United Kingdom

Batcombe is one of the most picturesque villages in this part of Somerset. It is surrounded by exquisite countryside and only a short walk from the Three Horseshoes pub. Bruton is a mere 10 minutes drive and there you can find all amenities and is easily accessible to Hauser and Wirth as well as the Michelin star restaurant, Osip.

Hi there, I'm a "young" 49 year old with two wonderful helpful teenagers, Tom and Josie. I'm a single parent, have a lovely boyfriend who lives in a nearby village and an ex-husband who I get on very well with! My new addition to the family is my gorgeous little pupster Mabel. A cross between a french bulldog and a dachshund, she’s super friendly and loves nothing more than “helping me” clean The Haven.. Before my move to Somerset last year I used to run my home and flats in Winchester as a successful B&B and in my spare time I design handbags and clothes which I have produced in Bali and India but previously I've worked in the travel industry, had a small cottage industry business making fun necklaces and after separating worked in a lovely patisserie in Winchester for five years, running the cafe, cooking and baking cakes ... In the past we've always had foreign students to stay and we are all very sociable and love meeting new people. I'm a creative, kind individual who likes all things arty. I'm very partial to antiques markets and love coming home with quirky finds to fill up my home, and love clothes and jewellery, I’m often found at a summer festival selling my wares. I've lived in Winchester for the last 20 years but absolutely love living in the beautiful village of Batcombe. I don't have lists of rules as I'm pretty easy going but obviously expect all my guests to respect the beautiful space I’ve created.
