Excellent spot as a jumping off point to see the island with a young family. keep in mind the beach in front of the cottage is rocky; with young children, we weren't able to swim there, which wasn't a problem because there is so much to see and do on the island! The cottage is private, offers Scenic views, is comfortable and beautifully decorated. The host went out of her way to answer all of our questions, and was kind enough to set us up with all the necessary baby gear so we didn't have to pack it. (High chairand crib). The cottage was also clean, with an updated kitchen and bathroom. We stayed indoors to avoid the bugs (mosquitoes), and enjoyed the breeze off the ocean sitting in the rocker chairs in the screened in room. Overall, a great place to stay!

Meghann's place was fantastic! Secluded with that perfect cottage feel. The decor is charming and we loved spending the morning reading in the kitchen or in the living room. The beach is lovely although we often headed to a local beach with white sand or our favourite beach (Greenwich). We were lucky enough to get tickets to see David Francey at the Trailside Music Cafe run by Meghann and her husband, Pat. What a bonus! We loved the cottage and hope to return and stay for longer. Highly recommended.

My husband and I booked Meghann's cottage for one week in the beginning of July. We were very excited to stay here as it was my first time to PEI and my husbands second time to the island in over 15 years. The cottage looked just as nice as it did in the pictures online. There were a few minor renos going on during our stay, but they were just cosmetic, and did not bother us. The cottage is very well looked after, down to the small details. We have rented other cottages before, and where other people over look things, like small comforts, Meghann's cottage came through with flying colours. Everything you need except for groceries are in the kitchen, which made cooking so nice and easy, just like if you were at home. If you stay here you will not need to buy salt, pepper, sugar, or cooking oil. Having a washing machine on site was so nice! We wished the clothes line was just a bit bigger, as there is no dryer in the cottage. PEI is usually pretty breezy so everything dried pretty quickly which was nice. The screened in porch was a delight. Leaving the doors open between the porch and kitchen cooled the cottage down in no time, and was very pleasant. We did notice however that there were a few damaged areas in the screen, which did allow quite a few misquotes in. After noticing this, we had to limit how much we left the doors open, because we had so many misquotes in the cottage. We were not sure if the amount of misquotes was because of the location (lots of thick bush around the cottage), because PEI just has a lot of misquotes, or just the time of year, but they were pretty bad. We are use to flying insects, we own a little cabin in the woods in northern Ontario, and we have not experienced misquotes quite like this before. I read all the previous reviews to ours and noticed only two other people mentioned the misquotes, so maybe it was just the time of year...? Just be sure you bring lots of bug spray and after bite, just in case. The beach was nice to relax on, but definitely not great for swimming (very rocky). Mid week we just sat on the beach all day long, and we had only seen a handful of people walk by, so it's pretty secluded which was nice. The sunsets were amazing, but again the bugs were pretty bad, even out at the beach so unfortunately we didn't get to experience very many. Overall thumbs up, and it was a great stay. Meghann was very quick to respond so if any issues arouse I'm sure she'd be on it quickly. One last thing to mention. We did not realize that the fire place that divides the living room to the kitchen, is closed up. It doesn't work, which is a shame because we...

If you are the kind of person that needs to occupy a space that has soul... this is for you. Beautiful remote location, very well equipped and just a lovely place to hang out.

We stayed at Meghann's cottage in PEI in early August with our two kids (3 and 6 years old). The cottage was exactly what Meghann had described and what we expected: quiet, charming, and close to the beach. We had a very relaxing stay and we really enjoyed playing at the beach with the kids. The water was a little cold and the mosquitos were plentiful at night, but we came prepared with bug spray. Meghann was a very good host and answered all the questions we had when we arrived at the cottage. She even sent a repairman to fix a small electrical issue. We would definitely stay at this cottage again in the future!

Meghann's cottage is in a beautiful and private location. It is clearly loved and cared for with lots of unique touches. We loved turning the record player on with our morning coffee or while preparing dinner. We especially appreciated the screened in porch which kept the mosquitos at bay. The beach is wonderful for taking walks and we were even able to find some sea glass. Meghann was very responsive to our inquiries and promptly addressed any concerns. We would recommend this cottage to our friends and family. A wonderful stay all around!
