Bowderdale Foot is an enchanting refurbished farmhouse situated in the magnificent peace and beauty of the Howgill Fells, Cumbria. Located in the northern area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, there is access to the surrounding fells and countryside from the doorstep. It is a great location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District national parks. An amazing and special place for friends or family to get together for a weekend retreat, short break or longer holiday.

The space
This enchanting farmhouse dates back to the 17th century. Full of character, original features, and in an amazing setting at the foot of the magnificent Howgill Fells, Bowderdale Foot is the perfect place for a family and friends get together, celebration weekend or holiday.

Delightful old farmhouse kitchen: Exposed oak beams and joists, granite work tops and a large kitchen table. Fully equipped with large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric range cooker, microwave and everything you need to cook for the whole family.

Lounge: Beautiful room with comfy sofas and views over the garden to the front and paddock to the rear. Nice and cosy with underfloor heating and wood burning stove.
Wall mounted TV with Freesat.

Dining room : Oak table and chairs to seat 10. The oak beams, underfloor heated stone flagged floor and feature fireplace make a great setting for a celebration meal.

There are 5 bedrooms:
Beautiful master bedroom with king size bed, seating area, oak floor, views to front garden, nearby stream and back paddock, door to garden.

Bedroom 2 is full of character with king size bed, seating area and a charming nook above the front porch.

Bedroom 3 has a double bed, oak beams and a step down to a small dressing area with chest of drawers and hanging space.

Bedroom 4 is a twin room with views over the front garden.

Bedroom 5 has two single beds. This is the smallest room, great for children but also adequate for adults.

There is a first floor bathroom with bath, separate shower, vanity unit, WC, heated towel rail and radiator.
Ground floor shower room, WC and wash hand basin.
Utility area with washing machine, dryer and worktop/sink.
Back porch/boot room with coat hanging area.

All linen and towels are provided.

Garden: The property has a lawned front garden, surrounded by drystone walls. There's a large fire pit with seating, a couple of extra picnic benches, and views out across the fields and the nearby beck. Whilst there isn't a back garden, there is a gravelled area that provides views across the paddock, where you can meet our hens, sheep and two alpacas!

Accessibility: Please note that as the house is several hundred years old, it has uneven floors, some low beams and doorways, and relatively narrow stairs. Whilst there is a downstairs shower room, there are no downstairs bedrooms, and most rooms have at least one step up or down into them.

Parking: There is plenty of parking space on the grass in front of the house.

Wi-Fi: The property has Wi-Fi throughout, and we've recently been able to upgrade to full fibre with excellent speeds.

Mobile phone coverage: Unfortunately this is very limited inside due to the thick walls of the house, and can be patchy outside depending on your network.
