Barnard Castle, England, United Kingdom

Located in the Pennine hills, Cotherstone is a pretty village made up mostly of Yorkshire stone houses in a protected conservation area. The village serves as a mid point between the market town of Barnard Castle and the upper Teesdale town of Middleton in Teesdale. Local sights include the famous High and Low Force waterfalls, Half Cup Nick and the village is close to the local reservoirs of Baldersdale. Local amenities in addition to the two village pubs easily accessed from the cottage include Egglestone Hall Gardens, Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle and fantastic dining options including the Rose and Crown in Romaldkirk.
