Hi! I'm Izabel Zimmer, I'm originally from Montreal. I studied and made a career in photography in Montreal. (photography of TV sets and cinema and portraits casting, magazine, etc.) In 2008, I bought a small maple grove along the Sainte-Anne River. Over the years, I dreamed of a larger project, to showcase my artisanal maple syrup, as well as my beautiful adopted patina, Saint-Casщ and its beautiful region of Portneuf, located between Trois-Rivières and Quebec City. So it's in 2014 that I start building my house , annexing a nice cottage to receive tourists. It is at the beginning of 2017 that Larguer les samares takes its real flight, with my first guests coming to spend the time of the holidays in the heart of the maple grove. It's an immediate success, and I feel fulfilled in this new life. How is everything on the ground? The gite is a rather special concept. No chalet or tourist residence, it is above all more intimate than a B&B (cafe duvet or bed &breakfast) Here at Larguer les samares, the experience has been carefully reinvented; the cottage is private inside, and semi- private outside. (there are common spaces) You have your cabin to yourself, it is arranged for healthy comfort, but without superfluous luxury (heated concrete floor, wood stove, kitchenette, bathroom, and beds on an open mezzanine, as well as a private terrace on the sunrise side. All the windows overlook the forest. It's perfect for a couple, or a small family, and is full of beautiful vintage objects! Thus, the gite has been designed and designed to maximize your privacy. It is self-contained as a cottage, while being integrated into the clean and simple architectural volume of Larguer les samares, including the sugar shack and my mini house. (see photos) Laarging Samares is a real agro-tourism project! Love to meet people? Know your host? You're in the right place. What to do, where to go, where to eat.... In times of pandemic when encounters have been rare or almost non-existent, it's good to share small moments. Nothing imposed and complicated. On the other hand, I know how to retreat to let you live your experience of immersion in the forest, and you will be completely self-sufficient on that side. I can also, if you wish..... Prepare a basket of local products in advance if ordered a few days before your arrival: - 5@7 basket including local beers, bread and cheese -panier full lunch including bread, eggs, jam, crepes, maple syrup coffee) Pricing on request ** I prepare a blend of crepe and a sample of maple syrup for anyone eager to tast it for free Bottles and canes are also for sale, as well as maple soap, and in season, wild pleurotes in oil. PS: I may, on certain occasions, go about my landowner occupations during your stay, always accompanied by my 8-year-old Labrador Fenouil who, by the way, loves the visit. A maple grove needs to be maintained, and there are key times in the year not to be missed. I am very sensitive to your comfort, so if I can wait until you leave, I will. - collection of small woods for you to light your fire - logging and splitting of wood in order to prepare the sugar season (Only a few days in the year) - leaf collection - trail maintenance You are welcome in a lifestyle in fashion ....slowlife and slowwork! Except during the sugar period! In this regard....the cottage will remain open to rental. On the other hand, there is a lot of action but over a relatively short period between mid-March and the end of April. For notified people only:) And why not come and help collect maple water?
