Bay Cove Cottage A is one side of a rustic 1940s duplex on Cape Arago Hwy. It is a clean and cozy, brightly colored, 550 sq ft apartment with one bedroom and a new fold-out couch in the living room. The kitchen and bathroom are simple, and retain original vintage character. There is no stove or oven, but a microwave, skillet, and portable single burner rangette, and small refrigerator are provided in the kitchen. The vintage bathroom is small, with no tub and the shower has a small entry (16 inches wide). We are offering the cottages as the basic option of Bay Cove properties and offer few amenities. Other things to note
We have lived in the area since 1999, and have never been anywhere we like better. We are a retired couple, and Bay Cove Properties is a work in progress, and we are striving to improve the property as a reasonably priced vacation rental. We will assist you in any way we can during your stay, and we love to visit with fellow travelers.
Bay Cove is a place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of the area, and possibly the company of the hosts or other guests. If you are looking for a place for a loud party and lots of people, there are many other places much more suitable for that. We strive to provide a simple, clean, quiet place for guests to rest and prepare for all the activities and attractions our area has to offer. This property is not suitable for large parties, and events are not allowed on the property.
People other than those in the guest party indicated in reservation may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.
Children must have adult supervision when playing outdoors, including on swings, treehouse, hobbit hideout or anywhere on the property.
No camping is permitted on the property unless previous arrangements are made, and the owner is fully informed on all aspects of a camping request.
No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property. Evidence of smoking will result in the loss of your security deposit.
Pets are NOT allowed anywhere on the property. Violation of this rule will result in the loss of damage deposit.
Crab cooking indoors is not allowed. We provide a large pot and a propane cooker for outdoor cooking, to avoid lingering odors from indoor crab cooking.
Please don't deposit crab or clam shells in the trash, as they can get very odoriferous before our weekly trash pick-up. We provide a bucket by the trash for discarded seafood shells, and we return them to the beach.
To help protect floors, we would appreciate outdoor shoes off, when in the house.
Our interaction with guests is totally dependent on the desires of our guests. We have lived in and loved the area for many years, and we are willing to visit with and share suggestions for local attractions and activities, and assist in any way we can to make our guest's stay more pleasant. If you are looking for privacy in a convenient location, we will respect your wishes and only the most minimal interaction necessary for your needs will occur.
We are a retired couple, John a federal wildlife biologist, Candy a swim coach and airline employee, and both former Nebraska farmers.
We consider ourselves adventurous, spontaneous, budget travelers and love meeting new people to share travel experiences. Whenever we get a chance to get far away, we try to go as travelers, instead of as tourists. We have traveled throughout SE Asia, Micronesia, Australia, Central America, Mexico, U.S. and Ireland.
We recently moved into a home that has become a great place to share with others in beautiful Charleston, on the southern coast of Oregon. We also enjoy all outdoor activities, beach-combing, birdwatching, hiking, kayaking and just observing the wonders of nature.
