Whispering Waters offers a quiet space to relax and enjoy your time spent away from home. It is a four room cabin adjacent to Caney Fork Creek, which feeds into the South Harpeth River in Fernvale. The cabin easily hosts four guests. The queen size bed is complimented by a sleeper sofa in the living room, which sleeps two as well. It's an intimate space located in a lovely setting.

The space
The acre site is dedicated to sustainable practices. I garden organically in raised beds, and a 43 by 43 fenced In garden (deer protection). Roosters crow throughout the day, and multiple species of birds fly by in their everyday lives. The humming birds never cease to amaze! To the south of the cabin are several large trees, including a massive oak. The constant flow of water adds an element to the atmosphere, literally, and cools down the immediate area nicely on hot summer days.

Where you’ll be

Fairview, Tennessee, United States

Caney Fork Road is located outside the Fairview city limits. Fairview is a small town of perhaps 8,000. Located in Fairview is Bowie Nature Park, over 700 acres with several small ponds, a lake (excellent fishing) and trails for walking. The real attraction of Whispering Waters is the setting. It feels very rural, but anything anyone could possibly want is not too far away. Several neighbors have roosters. I personally like hearing them crow. Travel in any direction and you encounter farms and farm animals, big fields and stands of timber. Enjoy the privacy, peace and quiet, and laid back vibe of this wonderful part of Middle Tennessee, located on what is geologically called, The Highland Rim.

I'm a 7th generation Tennessean who loves this great state. I was raised in Nashville, and have lived here in northwest Williamson County for thirty years. Geologically, it is a wonderful location with lots of rich history, flora and fauna, and lots of good water. The forest is diverse, and there still exists large tract farms and woodlands all around this area. Please visit and wonder at the beauty of it all!

During your stay

I am happy to meet anyone staying at Whispering Waters (I live next door), but respect everyones desire for privacy. I envision this getaway to be a refuge from the everyday pressures of life. I want each guest to simply relax if that is what you desire! If you have any questions regarding the local happenings, or environment, or even history, please ask me. I'm a teacher at heart!

Regarding pets, dogs are a part of the family, and so I allow them, but because the house is only 900 square feet, it does not accommodate a large dog(s). So I request that no dogs over 35 pounds accompany my guests. I also request that your dog not sleep or lie on any furniture. Pets does not include cats. I've owned many felines over the years, but I can't take the risk of unwanted "spraying" on rugs or furniture. Much thanks for respecting these stipulated conditions for staying at Whispering Waters.
