Delightfully located, this beautiful riverside cottage is wonderfully placed on the bank of the Nire River. Charming inside and out, it has a totally modernised interior and lovely outdoor space in an acre of garden with riverside seating. The area is a walkers paradise with Comeragh, Knockmealdown & Galtee Mountain Ranges on the doorstep. The Cottage is surrounded by famous fishing grounds, road and mountain biking trails (2 minutes from the house). If you just want to relax, sit by the Nire River and watch the deer, otters, herons and dippers.
By day hike or bike in the mountains, golf, or fish in the Suir River, by night, have a BBQ or visit one of the local restaurants and afterwards join in a traditional session in one of the pubs closeby. Alternatively, just light the stove, sit back, relax and listen to the river flow by. For more information on local activities check out the Activities Page.
This Cottage is located less than a mile from Ballymacarbery Village where there is a shop and 2 pubs, in addition there are two renowned restaurants nearby, making eating out an easy choice.
Within half an hour’s drive of the cottage is a choice of six golf clubs. A few minutes away is a fly fishing school and fishery. The Nire Valley is famous as a walking and cycling holiday destination. The hugely popular annual Sean Kelly Tour of Waterford passes the front door on route to one of the mountain climbs.
Waterford County hosts a range of annual festivals. These include the annual Autumn Walking Festival in the Nire Valley and Comeragh Mountains. Ten walks are scheduled over the weekend, of varying difficulty, with a formal dinner on the Saturday.
Waterford City is the capital of this sunny region and renowned as the oldest city in Ireland. It is known worldwide as the home of Waterford Crystal. This famous glass factory has a Visitor Centre offering a huge choice of Waterford Crystal articles and a factory tour offers first hand access to all areas of traditional crystal production.
County Waterford is on the south east coast of Ireland. Enjoying 147 kilometres of coast with some great beaches, beautiful river valleys, lakes and two dramatic ranges of very accessible mountains visitors will find plenty to fill their time when they visit Waterford
