About this listing

A fully accessible Wine Country house in the middle of one of Niagara's most scenic vineyards. Lake views from porch and access to the Bruce Trail immediately behind the home. Convenient for exploring wine country, biking and culinary experiences. Niagara Falls and St Catharines and Jordan brief car ride away.

The space

This is a lovely old farmhouse styled home that has been entirely updated to a very high standard. We are accessible for mobility impaired guests with an elevator between floors (arranged if required), ramp to enter the house and roll in shower. All of these features have been architect designed so are tastefully integrated.

Lovely big country kitchen with all necessities on hand. Fantastic view over the vineyards and Lake Ontario to the Toronto skyline to enjoy while you breakfast at the kitchen table. A full dining room, living room and television room complete the downstairs rooms.

Old school porches to the north and east and a spacious deck on the south side offer lots of outdoor relaxation space. The lot itself has a lawn and small orchard all surrounded by vineyards. Across our back fence is the World Biosphere Reserve Niagara Escarpment cliff face and the Cave Spring Conservation Area.

Four private bedrooms are upstairs for the use of up to 8 guests. There is a den that has a premium queen sized pullout to comfortably accommodate another couple., if needed subject to a small incremental charge. The reward for having the pullout as your room is a private balcony that enhances the library! The Master Bedroom has a private bathroom and the others share a spacious bathroom. There is a large powder room downstairs too.

There are hardwood floors throughout and furnishings are of high quality: no big box items!

Guest access

Guests have a private garden and seating on the deck and porches. They are welcome to walk throughout the estate including around our ponds where fishing is permitted. There is a fully private apartment in the basement where one of the the owners lives, with its own separate entrance and patio area. We are near at hand, but your privacy is guaranteed.

Interaction with guests

We are on site in a fully private part of the house and are very willing to answer questions about the region and help with any challenges. We do not use any part of your indoor space, but you may run into us in the garden. We have grown up in these vineyards and would be proud to show them to our guests. We try to check in once a day and guests are provided with cell and land line contact to ask us any questions.
We have two standard poodles that might visit outdoors, but do not come into the Estate House---if you want to walk them, just ask!

Other things to note

It is important to note that Cave Spring Vineyards fully surround the Estate House and they are a working environment. Some noise can be expected from normal farming practice. We will communicate specific seasonal issues with you when we begin the booking process.

Helen is a wonderful hostess - provided us with fantastic recommendations for dinning out and for walks around the area. She is informative and available and gave us the privacy to enjoy her stunningly beautiful house! We had the relaxing getaway that we had hoped for and would love to come back again soon!!!!

Helen's place is just as described, if not nicer. A well-appointed kitchen that was a joy to work in. Cosy fireplace, beautifully furnished, and spotless. A perfect place for a relaxed getaway.

I don't have enough good things to say about our stay at this beautiful vineyard property. We booked this home for a business getaway to do some team building, and we could not have had a more beautiful setting. From start to finish, Helen was wonderful to communicate with, and offered to help make our stay more productive by bringing in sandwiches (which we would have taken her up on had we not been set on trying out the local wineries, which were absolutely fantastic!). We found the home to actually be larger than it seems in the photos, and from the kitchen, to the bedrooms, the large dining room and multiple lounging areas, each space was extremely well-equipped with anything you could possibly need. We had unexpectedly mild weather for November, and were able to spend quite a bit of time on the beautiful and large covered porch, with a view of the vineyard - just stunning in fall. My only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer to take advantage of all that this home had to offer. Thank you, Helen!!

Everything was fantastic. My Nana is 75 and she loved the convenience of having the elevator so she didn't have to climb the stairs to the bedrooms. Very clean, and excellent quiet location. We had a wonderful time!

This was an absolute diamond of a find... We were 9 adults and a baby attending a wedding nearby and the house was perfect for us. The decor in particular is immaculate and tasteful and everything has been thought of. The large kitchen was the hub of the house and we all enjoyed congregating in there for lazy breakfasts and dinners. The outside terraces are all well catered for with furniture and to enjoy the superb views of the vineyard. Helen was a great host, popping in to check we were Ok and lots of tips for the local area - including a personal tour of the vineyard. Can not recommend highly enough and hope to go back.

We had an amazing experience staying at Cave Springs. Helen was a gracious host who provided all the information we needed to have an enjoyable stay. The house itself was clean, inviting, spacious. The pictures do not do this property justice... situated on the escarpment, you can sip your coffee and enjoy views of the winery as well as Lake Ontario. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore this region.

We live in Paradise! We are winegrowers and winemakers in the Niagara Peninsula and we are eager to share this extraordinary place with others. We have been lucky to have travelled quite a lot so we can anticipate what our guests might reasonably expect. We are right on site and, though your privacy will be respected, we are very happy to meet you and invite you on our daily walks with our three vineyard dogs.
