Where you’ll be

Brae, Scotland, United Kingdom

I was born and brought up here on my families croft. The guest house is surrounded by my nephews pure breed coloured Shetland sheep.
Quiet location with fishing and lovely walks nearby.
My family own the Hams of Muckle Roe, this walk and cliff scenery is not to be missed while you’re staying here.
Brae is only two miles away with several eateries, garage, post office, leisure centre and small swimming pool.

I was born and brought up in Brae, a place I love and call home. After leaving school I was lucky to served my time as a seamstress and worked in a bridal shop altering the dresses and men’s suites. My love of sewing came at an early age from my very talented granny who spent many hours teaching me on a treadle singer sewing machine. We’d make clothes together and spend hours crocheting and crafting. During the construction of Sullon Voe Oil terminal 42 years ago with the help of my Dad I built the Guest House and over the years have extended it and built three chalets alongside. It became a very busy Guest House and developed into a successful business. I went back to college and studied catering and was able to train several employees over the years to become chefs and to work alongside me in the guest house. I now enjoy teaching crochet and other crafts in the guest house and looking after the grand kids.
