Where you’ll be

Kadoka, South Dakota, United States

You will be staying on a 1/2 acre right as you come into the town of Kadoka. I have another Airbb ( the “Farmhouse”) on the same property. West of the bunkhouse there are three full RV hook ups.
There is a large rock covered area in front of the bunkhouse and shade trees and grass on either side.

Kadoka is on Interstate 90 about 20 min from the entrance to the Badlands National Park. The 1880 town a historic replica of an old western town is 20 miles east of Kadoka, also right on Interstate 90.

This is a small rural ranching community. The grocery store has most everything you need for everyday cooking, but if you need something in particular or unusual bring it. You can find fresh eggs at the feed store and once a week buy locally grown produce. The city bar is open most evenings, but fine dining is not an option. There is a small cafe but the hours are limited. If you arrive very late in the evening your food options might be limited to the local truck stop.

It is usually quiet, but if there is a fire or an accident, there will be sirens. The fire and rescue departments are volunteers and the sirens go until help arrives. The evening are typically quiet, but there might be a pot load of cattle parked at the nearby truck stop, they are not so quiet. Mostly sitting on the deck, late in the evening, you will hear crickets.

I am a jeweler, appraiser and sometimes home remodeler from a cattle ranch in south central South Dakota. I love to find air bb stays when I am traveling for art shows or just for fun. I have just recently turned the tables and am hosting using a recently renovated property in Kadoka.

I can be found down the street in our “ townhouse” most nights and if I am not in town ( we also live on the family ranch about 40 miles away)
Becca, my cohost is usually available.
