The location is excellent and the hostel in general is pretty cool but I cannot recommend this room at all. First of all the room smells strongly of mold and the a/c doesn’t help. The bed is not comfortable at all for 2 people, it sags into the middle and I spent the whole night…

PROS: Location is great - within walking distance of main activities. Breakfast was ok for the price of the stay. CONS: The room was okay for a couple of nights however there were cockroaches in the room, not swarming all over but we did see / kill one on each of the three nigh…

Response from Ricardo:
Hi Sarah, it is not rare to find bugs in tropical weathers. However, we make a point in not having them in our place. Had you told us about the problem we would have relocated you. Defining Manso as a basic hostel is not accurate, for these reasons: 1- Boutique means a lodging that is not standarized. Each of our rooms has its own vibe and style. 2- Art is everywhere, which gives lots of character to the place. 3- Service is exceptional. We have a highly trained, super friendly multilingual staff. I dont know any basic hostel that has quality service. 4- We offer an experience; not only a bed. The community-managed tours in Guayaquil's area, the cultural events happening here and the Agro Ecological cuisine restaurant are not common in basic hostels. I regret your bad experience with the bugs but had you communicated it in the right moment we could have made yours a much more pleasurable stay. BTW, the room was fumigated shortly after you left because the guest who stayed after you reported us about it. Cheers RICARDO

Ricardo’s place is within the Manso hotel. The location is excellent - very close to shops, the waterfront and eateries. The wifi works well and the shower was hot! Each day there was a fresh jug of water left in our room which was a nice touch. Thanks Ricardo

This hotel is great, really stylish and great for the price! We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Hot showers and a really comfortable bed were just what we needed!

Very creative space. Bed was huge and comfortable. Great location across from prime malecon spots, gorgeous historic buildings, and a great shopping area. However, we did wear earplugs at night as any noise reverberates thru hallway. Would stay there again.
