Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa
Nestled in nature.
Submerged in the old-growth forest of the Tsitsikamma on the one side, and the other, rich diverse fynbos. Proteas, rhus, polygala, giant indigenous trees, ferns and refreshing lower growth of the pioneers to the likes of Keurbooms, Candlewood and Boekenhout surround the house. A birder’s paradise, with resident Knysna Turaco, Double-collared sunbirds, brown hooded kingfisher, black-headed oriole, and these are admired from the 200-degree deck around the house.
Tulani is our home, we adore creating beautiful spaces and you will have the opportunity to marvel in this comfortable serene environment. Both the double bed bedrooms are separate from the main house and living area, which gives our guests the chance to really relax and live to their own beat.
The bunkhouse, which is based behind the main house consists of its own private deck and camping kitchen. It sleeps two, on a queen extra length mattress with a 13 tog duvet. It’s not yet insulated :) The main bedroom is adjacent to the main house and it boasts the lush jungle bathroom we have created, with an inside shower, outside shower and forest bath. The front doors of the main bedroom give you a view of the Tsitsikamma forest which will make you magnetised to your bed and book.
The upstairs bedroom is used as Amy’s art studio, with a large table, small desk and space for yoga practice. Not to mention the breathtaking forest view from that height. Making this the perfect working getaway for creatives.
The encompassing deck, outdoor lounge and forest are really where you will be spending most of your time. We have two daybeds, a big 8 seater table, a hammock, a weber braai, a thatch roof swing and views which you feeling naturally occupied with the spectacle of Mother Earth and our pristine surroundings.
Last but not least is the grass roof - the perfect spot for romantic sundowners, a quiet morning meditation or just a spectacular view of the forest and Formosa mountains.
As mentioned before, we are renting this out as our home and we only request that you respect our belongings and are mindful of water-saving, recycling and fire risk. Please also note that our home is for those who love the great outdoors, as it is an outside/inside living area!
More information is available on request and a concise booklet will be presented upon your arrival. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
