Our Vintage Nomad trailer welcomes you with a true glamping experience! It’s a fusion of retro style with modern conveniences, in a rustic setting. La Caravana lives under several heritage oak trees and the sounds of nature.

We always enjoyed camping and being in touch with nature but missed some amenities, comfort and privacy... until we learned about GLAmping! Then we fell in love with this vintage 1970 Nomad travel camper - we were also born in the 70s :)

The space
La Caravana is a cozy, comfortable, air conditioned travel camper, about 16’ long. We initially purchased the camper for travel and as a guesthouse. It was completely renovated inside and out. It’s parked at our small ranch, behind our main structures, overlooking the seasonal pond and beautiful oak trees. It’s close to the veggie garden, chicken coop and the goat barn/corral where the chickens also free range. Guests are welcome to get veggies and eggs when available.

Inside there is a small bathroom with regular flushing toilet and shower, comfy full size bed, a kitchen with double sink (and the only sink in the trailer), 1970 original stove, mini fridge, microwave, basic tools/ingredients for cooking and 2 fans. We always have good quality coffee available, tea, some breakfast items, snacks and beverages. There is a closet, space under the bed for a couple small suitcases and a bench that can serve as sitting or extra storage space.

Just outside La Caravana, we created a few areas to be enjoyed outdoors - which is the main purpose of glamping here :) There is a 5' stock tank tiny pool that fits 2 people comfortably. The water is filtered, treated and solar-heated. There is a dining area with a propane grill, a lounge, fire pit and hammocks. Everything is facing west(ish) so the sunsets behind the trees are beautiful!

We are animal lovers! Your pet is welcome and will enjoy the spaces we have here! Pls let us know if you are bringing any. We charge a one time flat fee of $15 per pet. We can only take up to 2 pets. Pls read the PET RULES for more info.

Where you’ll be

Placerville, California, United States

There are so many simply beautiful things around here! We love the fact that this place feels peaceful and secluded, yet 5-10 minutes from any comfort needs.

There are all kinds of amazing hiking options super close to us, great wineries and orchards within 10-15 minutes and the beautiful American river (only 10 min. away).

We are located within less than 10 minutes from charming downtown Placerville, nice restaurants, shopping, several wineries and HWY 50. Apple Hill area is 15 min away. We are 50 minutes from the closet ski resort, less than an hour from Amador Wine County and other charming Gold Rush towns. Gold was first discovered just 12 minutes from us, in Coloma. South Lake Tahoe is bit over an hour away.

Hello there! I’m a very happy, hard working person doing what I love - I’m a homesteader and host at my small ranch “Box of Rain”. I’m a Brazilian native, with a love affair with the US for almost 20 years. My dear husband Carl and I moved from a city life to this magical place seeking a change in 2018. We adore the simplicity and tranquility of the rural lifestyle. I am very passionate about hosting and go the extra mile to make our guests feeling at home. My main goal is to provide a great experience to our guests. I hope we get to meet soon :)
