The self-contained space has been designed and created by a writer for writers and artists.

Be inspired by vineyards and wineries, the flow of the tidal river, historic buildings on stilts, unmarked walking trails, and the quiet natural spaces within.

The space
The space is located separately in a large Victorian-style historic home. There is a private entrance to the three-room retreat, complete with sleeping area, washroom and work and lounge space. Where you’ll be

Bear River, Nova Scotia, Canada

The village of Bear River is located upon the river of Bear River. Other than for daytime traffic and the occasional sound of the fire alarm from the local fire station, the environment is quietly conducive to creativity. Other sounds include birds and eagles that soar along the river.

One neighbor is residential while the other is a converted church art studio.

There is access to fresh fruit and vegetables and locally made pasta. The convenience store and convenience store gas station has most essentials, including baked goods.

Residents and shop owners are friendly and happy to converse.

I am a writer who is inspired by the natural beauty of Nova Scotia- the expanse of the Annapolis Valley, the energies of the Bay of Fundy tides, and the solitude of the surrounding forests. A significant portion of my life has been spent in the hospitality and tourism industries, where I have enjoyed connecting with others. This experience, along with certification in Food and Beverage Management, makes me a conscientious host. I look forward to hosting artists and writer's who have stories to tell.
