Welcome to Nwyfre’ Farm, meaning “life force”, offers a space to rest, reflect, regenerate and expand. Take time to slow down and unplug. We are situated on 13 secluded acres well off the beaten path. The property has a nice, relaxing atmosphere with plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy, remote countryside to explore and beautiful views.

Take advantage of our introductory offer.

The space
To guests who have stumbled upon us, we say Welcome! To our returning guests, we say welcome back! Through crisis comes change. To the hundreds of guests who have stayed with us in the past, either camping out of our RV with your family (two legged and four legged) or staying with us in our cozy cabin, we took the “global pause” and the down time given to us as an opportunity to build Raven Bear Retreat. It sits where the RV used to and it has the energy of our cabin as it is built with the trees off our land. . . . . . Just like our cabin.

Raven Bear Retreat is a sweet little rustic cabin that offers a place to unplug, to re-kindle your creativity and imagination. Paint, draw, journal, take a walk in nature to re-connect with yourself or just sit and gaze into the camp fire. Bring the kids. Children six years and older are welcome. The farm animals are kid magnets!

Raven Bear Retreat is located with a view of the farm and the beautiful mountain ridge beyond with its’ painters pallet of spring and summer greens and changing to blazing autumn colors. Raven Bear Retreat is primarily a three season space that can accommodate up to six guests. A full bed located downstairs and a light filled loft that has a futon and two floor chairs that convert to twin mattresses.

Raven Bear Retreat is a hybrid in that it has electricity through out the year. Indoor running water during the warmer months that supplies you with hot water for taking indoor showers and an indoor portable toilet.

For those looking for a winter stay, there is a wood stove to keep you cozy warm and water is supplied in containers as the running water is turned off when temps drop below freezing. Take in some snow shoeing or cross country skiing from the cottage front door into a winter wonderland.

Complimentary coffee and tea are offered. We also have fresh farm eggs upon request. Linens and bath towels are supplied. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need to prepare and serve up a meal. There is an outdoor gas grill for BBQs and a fire pit with a picnic table to enjoy sitting around the campfire and roasting marshmallows.

You are unplugged, no cell signal or wifi.

Well behaved pets are welcome with prior approval. Sage, our resident dog, is steward to the farm and also farm ambassador. Loves people, great with kids. Friendly and sociable with most dogs but he will not tolerate intact male dogs. Especially those who have pushy, dominating personalities.

Please let us know your estimated time of arrival so we can plan our days activities around your arrival.

We are within 30 minutes to grocery stores, gas station and restaurants. Miles of country roads for biking or taking a stroll.

See you soon!

Where you’ll be

Brookfield, Vermont, United States

We are well off the beaten path and are located in a remote area. Keep this in mind if you are wanting to go out to dinner or wanting to shop. The neighborhood consists of large parcels of land, seasonal homes, hunting camps and some parcels under land trusts. Most of us live a quiet, low key lifestyle. There are miles of dirt roads for biking and trails for country strolls. Brookfield is known for its Floating Bridge.

Seeking to get out of the "rat race", my husband, Marc and I decided to move to a location where we are away from everything and convenient to nothing except for nature and open spaces where we can enjoy trail riding, being more outdoors and a place that is inspiring to us. We scouted around for a couple of years and found that Vermont offered exactly what we were looking for. We made the final move from Atlanta in 2006 with animals in tow. We built a modest log cabin with the timber off the land and of course, a warm cozy barn for the horses. We live a holistic lifestyle for ourselves and our animals. Continuing on that path, I am a health/wellness counselor and commercial artist. My husband is a certified massage therapist/energy worker for humans and animals in between working out in the corporate world. Life motto: Live your dream!
