Enjoy the lovely setting of this romantic spot in nature. A shingled walkway leads to secluded in the woodland Holly our beautiful shepherds hut. Full river frontage decking large enough to dance and a wooden walkway that leads up above the trees where you can eat or just sit and relax. A wood fired hot tub is secluded on the decking to create a romantic, memorable experience

The space
A secluded woodland hideaway tucked away just off the Stour Valley way on the Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire border. In walking distance of the National Trust property Stour Head
There are two pubs with restaurants within walking distance along with usual village amenities. The historical cities of Salisbury and Bath are around 40 minutes away

The shepherds hut Holly has a a river frontage and leads to our own private lake lake. You can sit and watch the ducks go about their business. Wildlife is very important to us, we have nesting boxes in the trees, kingfishers, geese, mandarin ducks along with deer and rabbits can be frequently spotted.

A path leads around to our lake and is dotted with benches all made from recycled plastic so chose your place to sit and read, relax and see if you can spot our resident kingfisher

Above is a link to an article about the Egbert stone, this is in our woodlands and although there is no public access to the stone, as our guests you can walk down to it -

So if history is your thing, walking, wildlife photography or you just fancy a break in spectacular surroundings- This is the place for you

All of the wildlife photos are taken within our grounds - grab a camera or just your phone - another world is waiting to be photographed 😀😀

Where you’ll be

Bourton, England, United Kingdom

Bourton is a beautiful village, easy access from the A303 - the main road from London to the West County. I grew up in the village, moved away but was always destined to retire here.

The village has a olde world pub which serves home cooked food, in the next village there is also a very good pub with excellent restaurant- both a walk away

I think visitors will come here for the peace and quiet, walkers and mountain bike enthusiasts will also find plenty to do as we are a short distance from the Nation Trust property of Stourhead with its gardens and extensive woodlands

If this is a base for a more explorative break then we are ideally situated for visiting historical cities of Bath, Salisbury and Wells along with Wokey Hole, Stonehenge Cheddar caves and Longleat - there’s honestly something for everyone. Explore, stay local, I’m sure you’ll find this recently converted barn a tranquil haven
