Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Enjoy the beauty of northern Vermont from this spacious 3 bedroom ranch-style house right on the border to our northern neighbors in Canada. After a day of sightseeing, you’ll be happy to gather around the firepit to trade stories and roast marshmallows.

Life is quiet and peaceful here, but there is always something to do. Winter brings skiing in Jay Peak, summer means boating, fishing, and swimming at Lake Memphremagog and fall is for taking in the stunning foliage.

The space
Living Spaces
As you reach the end of a quiet road, you’ll come upon our red-shingled home and the first thing you’ll notice is the towering pine and birch trees. They lend an air of tranquility and peace, which so many of our guests seek in the green mountains of Vermont.

Enter the front door to the original wood plank floors, which add to the charm and farmhouse appeal of the home. The living room is furnished in a comfortable style, with a futon and sofa. The wall is adorned with photos of the nearby scenery and points of interest.

A wood-burning stove will keep you warm and cozy during the cold Vermont winters, while the ceiling fan keeps you cool during the summer months.

Cooking & Dining
The country kitchen is generously sized and contains everything needed to create a delicious home-cooked meal. There’s plenty of storage for your groceries and between a long peninsula counter and a kitchen island, more than enough food prep space.

Between peninsula seating for 4 and an adjacent wood farmhouse table, your entire group can easily enjoy a meal together, as you plot out the next day’s adventures.

For your convenience there is a full-size washer and dryer.

Note: Please let us know if you need a playpen, high chair, or two seat jogging stroller. We have these on hand and are happy to provide them.

Sleeping Accommodations and Bathrooms
The main bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has a double, and the third bedroom has a twin. Each of the bedrooms offers a private seating area. The living room futon conveniently folds out to a queen bed.

The shared full bath offers a tub/shower combo.

Where you’ll be

Newport, Vermont, United States

One of the many activities our guests enjoy is renting a boat for a lazy day out on the lake. The city of Newport is located on the southern shore of Lake Memphremagog, which straddles the US/Canadian border.

If you should happen to find your way to downtown Newport, you’ll be interested to see that many of the downtown buildings are original to the 1793 founding of the town. They have been converted to shops, restaurants, and municipal buildings.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the Newport Bike Path is a free, easy 6.1-mile path that goes through the towns of Derby and Newport.

Visiting the MAC Center for the Arts is a great way to support local artists and artisans and bring home a unique memento from your stay in northern Vermont.

Take a 2- hour scenic day cruise, dinner cruise, or a Sunday brunch cruise aboard the Northern Star and enjoy the lake from a different vantage point.

For the beer and music aficionados, don’t miss the chance to visit Kingdom Brewing in nearby Newport.

The Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center is a great evening out for friends, families, and foodies alike! It is comprised of 5 different local vendors, each sharing their own taste of Vermont. Enjoy sipping on cider of both the hard and not-hard varieties, sampling various Vermont cheeses, savoring baked goods, scrumptious maple products, and much more!

Enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many areas restaurants and don’t forget to follow it up with an ice cream from Tim & Doug’s! (open seasonally)
