The space
Situated in the beautiful Rosebud River Valley lies a new treasure: The Impossible Dream. This historic Canmore landmark is freshly developed after a four year labour of love. The windmill boasts fantastic rural views with the cliffs of Rosebud to the north, cattle on the Rosebud hill to the east and the rooftops of our quiet hamlet to the west. Step out your bedroom door onto the 360° wrap around upper deck for your morning coffee and witness what quiet is.

If stunning views and rural tranquility aren’t your thing, head back inside. There’s a pull down ladder in your bedroom leading to a secret room on the third floor. Cedar plank floors, plastered walls, exposed wood beams, and a comfy wingback chair truly add to the coziness of the blue library; perfect for losing yourself in thought and imagination.

Heading back down to the bedroom on the second floor you’ll find a good night’s rest. The bed is a very comfortable memory foam mattress and north/south windows offer a pleasant cross breeze. The octagonal shaped bedroom really does give off a safe and intimate energy.

The custom designed and fabricated spiral staircase built by Rosebud artisans, leads to the main floor. On your way you’ll notice the 2.5” thick wood treads which are locally sourced from an Alberta sawmill.

On the main floor you’ll find all the amenities you need for your perfect getaway. The kitchen has a Wolf stove and the countertops are built out of European beechwood. Flooring is a hand hewn oak and the beams above are Douglas Fir.

Inside the bathroom you’ll find a custom built tadelakt shower. This is a 1500 year old Moroccan architecture technique that uses a natural black olive oil soap to seal the hand polished lime plaster walls. The end result? Stunning. And the soft close barn door to the bathroom is a nice touch.

Come visit the Impossible Dream. Whether you’re checking out the dinosaur museum or taking in live theatre down the street or simply getting out of the city to treat yourself. Whatever your reason, come.
