Copacabana is undoubtedly the most carioca neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro !

I usually say that I live where most people would like to go on holiday !

Copacabana, lovingly referred to by locals Cup , is an upscale neighborhood located in the south of the city of Rio de Janeiro , Brazil.

It is considered by many one of the most famous and prestigious neighborhoods in Brazil and one of the best known in the world. It has the nickname Princess of the Sea and the South Zone heart .

It borders the neighborhoods also noble da Lagoa , Ipanema, Botafogo and Rudder .

In terms of population , is the most populous district of the South Zone of Rio's capital , with more than 140 000 inhabitants in 2010 .

Here everything happens !

It is not for nothing that Copacabana attracts a large number of tourists, the neighborhood is full especially during the times of the New Year and Carnival .

At year end , the traditional fireworks display on Copacabana Beach is a must and attracts a crowd of people , as well as the blocks that come out through the neighborhood in the carnival .

The edge is still place for various events such as national and international shows, all year round .

Walking on the beach , lie on the soft sand , swim in the sea , watch the sunset sitting on the edge of one of bars is simply delicious and cheap.

Rent a bike and ride the bike path rudder to Leblon is good and very cheap.

Botanical Garden The Botanical Garden is one of the most peaceful places of every city . It was established in 1808 by King John VI . Tijuca National Park The largest urban forest in the world is 2 km from the city center . Great for walking , hiking and picnics. Corcovado Mountain with Christ Redeemer The Corcovado Mountain is certainly the biggest attraction of the city. Situated 710 meters above sea level , the hill holds the statue of Christ the Redeemer , one of the best-known monuments in the world. The statue , which measures 38 meters and weighs 1,145 tons , was inaugurated in 1931. To get to the main terrace , visitors have to climb 222 steep steps . The climb to the top of Mount Corcovado , can be done by train that climbs up a railway , one of the oldest in the country , opened in 1884 by Dom Pedro II . The view is one of the most beautiful city . Driving rising, the visitor can still know the way the Mirante Dona Marta , a view as or more beautiful than the Christ the Redeemer . Sugarloaf Sugarloaf Mountain is another world famous postcard . To get to the top ( 396 m), the visitor climbs a glazed lift in two stages. Copacabana Beach Princess of the Sea , Copacabana is a synthesis of Rio . Can not speak to the beach not to mention the neighborhood. With its thousands of inhabitants , Copacabana is a neighborhood with a very heterogeneous population. They are rich , poor , famous and unknown who make the soul of Copacabana.
