Hello! And welcome to Rose’s School House.

Situated just an hour-and-fifteen minutes from Toronto we invite you to escape the intensity for a breath of serenity.

Featuring four bedrooms; three with queen beds and a king in the loft, a double pull-out sofa, and a twin bed on the screened in porch, our place is perfect for families, a group of friends or colleagues to gather and enjoy.

The space
In addition to beds, we have desks, lots and lots of desks. Why? Well, because that’s an adorable design decision seeing as our place is an old schoolhouse but also because we now all live in virtual-land and need places to do our office and school work.

So if you must, there are plenty of flat surfaces and privacy to work remotely, but really, might we recommend you come and just chill out?

Nestled amongst the trees you’ll feel like you’re at a cottage but with the huge bonus of being a five-minute drive into town where you can get groceries, sundries, booze, and a really really good soft pretzel.

The entire house was furnished with the question of “Is it comfortable?” in mind and guests have consistently responded with a resounding “mrmrmrmrm” as they lay prone and happy across our beds and couches.

Look, I was with you. Colborne? Where the heck is that and what is there to do? Well, let me tell you.

Where it is, is at The Big Apple. Know when you’re doing the Toronto to Montreal run and there is that huge apple on the south side of the 401 highway? We are right there. So if you like apples, apple pie, apple gumbo…you get it, well, your visit will be off to a great start! But beyond apples and apple accoutrement this area is actually fantastic.

Other things to note:

The vast majority of the art in the home was done by family, and all of it is by Canadians. But, be thee warned, there are also some nudes. So if bums and bits aren’t your bag give us the heads up and we can take them down, or if they are your thing, yay! Us too.

The Internet. It’s a bit…retro. We have called Elon and pleaded with him to beam us highspeeds but thus far he has left us hanging. 5mbps is the best we can do, so you can send emails but if you try and download a movie you’ll find yourself pacing and growling like a disgruntled panther. Our solution? DVDs! Which, for those born in the 2000s, DVDs are these like mini Frisbees that go whizz, whizz, whirl and you can watch movies off of them. The cellphone service is great though so if you’re good to tether, you’re good to go.

Lastly, this is our home. Like old school (punning!) Airbnb style when the properties listed were homes, not investment properties, so please treat our lovely old lady with love and respect.
