The space
Enjoy nature and solitude in this unique off-grid cabin. It is surrounded by tall pines with a view of our private pond on a meandering river, you can hear the flow of the water over a beaver dam. This winter season, enjoy the cabin by the antique wood burning stove. Bring your snowshoes or skis and explore our private 6 acres of land.

Located near Maniwaki, QC. The cabin is a unique designed 300 sq. ft. “G-Frame” (designed and built by my partner Dan) .

The interior space is spacious with cooking area, dining table, four comfortable chairs, a loft with a queen bed, and a wood stove with plenty of wood to keep you warm your entire stay. There are many large windows allowing nature to be part of your experience indoors. In the winter months our antique wood burning stove provides a warm and cozy environment. No electricity yet! Nights will be toasty and mornings will be chilly, but the wood stove will warm the cabin very quickly. Enjoy a hot coffee made in the peculator on a vintage Coleman stove. I provide the coffee, hot chocolate and tea.

Outdoor fire pit is great day or night. If there is snow on the ground explore the area and the many beaver dams.

Fill up the bird feeder on your arrival evening and see the blue jays the next morning. Put out peanuts for our squirrel friends.

When there is a lot of snow , bring your snowshoes, cross-country skies and explore the area. Endless ungroomed terrain to explore.

The loft has a solid wood ladder to the firm queen-sized mattress, pillows, flannel duvet cover, warm duvet and micro-fibre sheets. I have several warm blankets beside the bed. Over the bed there is an overhead window looking out to the pine forest. Look over the railing to see the beautiful view in the “D” window.

We are off-the-grid, so no wifi, but we have an iPhone/iPad extended holder for watching movies in bed.

There is a two-burner Coleman propane stove, plates, utensils, coffee percolator, cups, tea box, small + medium pots, small cast iron pan, a couple of coffee mugs, wine glasses, etc. A sink is installed in the kitchenette for washing your dishes. You will need to bring in potable water.

The outhouse is a short walk (about 60 meters) away from the cabin. There is a small bathroom in the cabin with an alternative place to "go" in the middle of the night. (...a bucket with a toilet seat, lined with a plastic bag and kitty litter - "number 1" only, please :-)

There are fairy lights that line the forest path from the parking lot to the cabin, and more lights from the cabin to the outhouse. You will never get lost at night!

Inside the cabin, there are a few books and games. It is our hope that we are sharing a space for you to relax, have conversations, connect to nature, each other, or to one's own peace.

Guests will have access to 6 acres of land, which is great for nature walks, snowshoeing and cross country skiing (in the winter months). Guests are welcome to explore and check out the town of Maniwaki, and nature trails in Déléage.

Other things to note, If you have things that need refrigeration, obviously in cold temperatures, they can be left outside. There are no racoons, and no other pesky animals. We get a lot of blue jays and squirrels, and the occasional flock of wild turkeys.

We can guarantee you will not see a mouse in the cabin; the cabin is sealed tight! However, you might hear them outside trying to get in... it's inevitable as they are trying to get into the warmth... and this is the middle of the woods after all!

Guests will park at the road and a cart is provided to bring your necessities to the cabin by foot. Approx. 100 meters.
