The space
Our recently updated A frame cabin has had two additions over the last couple decades. We have linked these spaces seamlessly offering several areas to enjoy time together. This also lends itself to guests who might be into separate activities during their stay. Comfort is key, with several seating areas an abundance of windows and nature all around.
WEDDINGS: inquire via email, weddings are booked separate from accommodations. Some dates are reserved/blocked for short notice bookings.
*events are not permitted unless separate arrangements have been made with hosts.
Main space:
The centre of the home offers 20ft wood ceilings with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay of the Trent river.
Dinning table for 8, large seating are open to the full size kitchen, above is the dreamy loft bedroom overlooking both the front and back of the lush property.
West side -bedrooms:
To the left of the grand Aframe are 2 bedroom dressed with modern accents and all you need for a good nights rest. Garden and water views sunset or sunrise.
A full bathroom with shower and large vanity.
East side -living room:
To the right is a large sunken living room with a down filled sofa that seats 8. Brick fireplace, mantle and television with satellite, Netflix.
Primary:
Down the hall you will find a lovely updated master ensuite with claw foot bathtub and large glass shower and rain head and vanity.

Cozy eating area for morning coffee or to sneak away from the crowd for some quiet time. Television with satellite tv and Netflix.
Outdoor spaces:
With several seating areas from Adirondack chairs surrounding a large firepit to dinning on the deck
Enjoying the morning sun on the front veranda or Sunsets on the dock.
The large dock stretches over the river from May to October housing loungers, Adirondacks and swim ladder. Fishing rod holder and small bins offering water shoes and goggles.
A second platform offers year round seating overlooking the water.

The leaves blanket the acres with warm tones perfect for family pictures, campfires, hot cocoa and fresh air.

The space is transformed into a winter wonderland. Dressed with garlands, twinkle lights, wreaths and a fully decorated tree.
Winter Months
visit our local ski hill within 10mins with activities for all ages.
Year round
The Hastings Heritage Trail is an all season, multi-use trail. It is largely used by ATVs, mountain bikes that can handle rough terrain.
Enter at the end of the street.
*Wineries are located 30 mins from the cottage. Our guidebook provides transportation options.
Guest access
Redford on the bay sits on 1.8 acres of land with 1 acre of flat lawn. This lends itself to small children and endless games.
The property is surrounded by forests with trails to explore.
Check in is easy with lock box.
Park your car in the paved driveway along with any utility vehicles should you chose to bring them. You can hop on and access trails in the area.
ELECTRIC VEHICLES: do not plug in any electric vehicles into any outdoor outlets on the house. (We understand there are universal adapters that guests can bring) nevertheless it is prohibited due to our electric panel capacity.
Other things to note
We do not accept requests unless you have a 5⭐️ rating.
We have a neighbour on the east side and although the forest separates us we ask that you be mindful of the noise.
WATERWAY Trent Severn lock system is quite complex and we often can’t predict changes in the current. We ask that our guests be aware of this when swimming as it can change from day to day.
HOTTUB USE/RISK-which may include but are not limited to drowning, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, skin/ear/bladder/lung or other infections, chemical burns or irritations, physical/psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, disability, economic or emotional loss, paralysis or death. By booking you and your group understand that these injuries or outcomes may arise at the activity location. Nonetheless, you assume all related risks, both known and unknown in participation of this activity.

WEATHER CONDITIONS: we do provide a generator, but it only covers some essentials throughout the house, refrigerator furnace some lighting. The stove will not be powered as it’s electric although the barbeque runs on propane. *We will not refund your stay if the weather affects your accommodations.
