Furnished room with AC. Bathroom down the hall. Washer and dryer access, kitchen access, room in the garage for storage. Gaming PC, Xbox 360, games and movies available with wired high speed Internet. Complimentary Netflix available. No furry pets! NO 420 or attempting to procure illegal substances allowed! Guests with criminal records or probation must get permission to be approved on a case by case basis.

The space

Flatscreen TV, Xbox 360, desk with PC suitable for business or gaming with Ethernet line and broadband, mini-fridge! Netflix and Pluto TV for sports, news, and more is available on the game console under "my pins". Wireless printer is located in the living room area. A wide selection of DVD's and games available to play during your stay and specific titles may be available upon request! A/C and heat works great though so its very comfortable all year round. This room is closest to the bathroom. Renters may use all the facilities in the common areas of the house. Each room has a key to lock it up and keep things safe. The house is secured by ADT as well. The house is fairly close to Lackland AFB, but not TOO close if you understand.

Though listed as 1 person, it can accommodate 2 people who are sharing the bed. There is space for an additional 3rd guest on the air mattress either in the room or in the den, but not always, so please specify if you need this option or if you are bringing your own air mattress.

Fresh and clean linens and towels are provided and I generally have spare bathroom essentials in case you forgot anything. Paying it forward for future guests is appreciated as well!

Guest access

Renters have access to all the common areas in the house including the living room, dining area, den, and yards. You will be provided keys to lock your room as well. I also have a big screen TV and Xbox 360 you can play! Please respect my save files though. As of October 2015, a new adjustable hand-held shower-head has replaced the old ball-joint one in the bathroom.

Interaction with guests

I work nights so you might not see me if you are checking in late. I don't like drama so leave that behind you here and chillax. Outstanding warrants, potential security concerns, or being on a sex offender list are grounds for refusal. Guests will not be discriminated against based on religion or lack of it, race, gender, orientation, internet-sub-cultures, etc.

Other things to note

If you are on PROBATION, PAROLE, have a WARRANT or have a FELONY you must make the details known beforehand and get permission to rent the room. It is not an automatic dismissal but I need to know for the safety of the other guests the nature of your situation. Also, there is alcohol here and I have weapons in the house for self-defense which may violate terms of probation for some individuals. Absolutely NO marijuana or illegal drugs allowed in your car or on the premises. Leave that stuff elsewhere. What you do off the property is your own business though.

There's a reason I left "kid friendly" unchecked. I don't mind babies or kids but the guests coming through typically are on vacation or have important business in the morning. That means I'd prefer no crying in the middle of the night to disturb their vacation or much needed rest. If you bring a child, let me know. If you want to rent all the rooms for a group together, then it becomes a non-issue because there's no other guests in the house to disturb. If you brought another kid age 0 and up, they count as a guest and you MUST tell me about it. This isn't exactly like a hotel in that respect. My house is not sound-proof or child-proof and I must know how many people are in the house in case of emergencies such as fire.

Air BnB's policy requires me to inform you that there is a security camera located outside the house pointed at the entrance and driveway area with a live feed to my phone for safety and accountability purposes.

Just let me know if you have questions!

RULES FAQ:

Q: Can I speak my native language in the house or just English?
A: You can speak whatever language you want here!

Q: Can I park in the Driveway?
A: Yes, you may park in either driveway or in front of the house on the curb.

Q: Where should I hang used towels?
A: On the rack behind the bathroom door. I pick them up when I do laundry.

Q: Can I have my mail delivered here?
A: Only before and during your stay. I am not responsible for abandoned property or forwarding your mail.

Q: Can I smoke a roach in my car or leave my stash in there? (Mostly from Washington and Colorado residents)
A: Absolutely not! Nothing like that is allowed anywhere on my property. (Unless Federal Law changes) I don't need to know about anything of that nature that you do somewhere else.

Q: Am I allowed to wear religious related attire in the house?
A: Yes, you can wear whatever you want here. (Please, at least use a towel, don't freak out the other guests)

Q: What is the latest time I can come back to the house?
A: There's no curfew here. So long as you check-in after noon on check in day and check out by noon on the check out day, you have a key, so come and go as you please!

Q: Are shoes allowed in the house?
A: Sure.

Q: Can I bring a pet if I leave it outside?
A: No, we tried this before and renters snuck pets inside. My sinuses noticed. I would make an exception if you have a horse or a giraffe maybe. Service dogs must be allowed by law, but please, be courteous to the allergy sufferers here and keep your service pet's dander under control or outside.

Mike communicated well, check-in was easy You may be sharing a bathroom with many others, you may not be able to easily communicate with them to organize when they'll be occupied the bathroom. There is not live TV, just streaming, lots to choose from, but no news or sports if you like that. Although the bed linens and towels appear to be clean you are at the mercy of the other guests to clean up after themselves as it is clear there is not a cleaning person who handles regular cleaning of bathroom, kitchen and floors, The price is appropriate for sharing spaces, maybe not for it's cleanliness.

Response from Mike:
Thanks for letting me know about this. I am usually there a lot more often to clean up behind people, but this week was particularly challenging due to work and health concerns. I usually take care of all the clean towels and linens myself. When in doubt, I wash it again. But yes, all guests are expected to clean up after themselves. Chris and I went through the bathroom items after all other guests were gone to help declutter it from items people abandoned like tooth brushes, razors, etc and I did a lot of cleaning in the past couple days getting it back to normal. My next project is decluttering the garage now that I have off-site storage so that should help immensely. As for news, there's a surprising amount of daily news available through YouTube. ESPN also has an app you can watch on PS3, but I think it costs extra. I might look in to it though as I've been getting a lot of requests for sports recently.

This space was was exactly what I needed! I literally just needed a palce to sleep after visiting an Air Force graduate and this was far cheaper, and much more conveniently located in relation to the base than a hotel would've been. We also thoroughly enjoyed Mike's recommendation for food in the area!

Mike was awesome! It was my first time using Airbnb and he was really helpful walking me through everything, very easy to communicate with. The room was nice, it felt homey and comfortable. It was clean and the xbox was really convenient to watch movies on. It was a quiet place, I'd stay at mikes again.

Host was super friendly and accommodating. One thing I'll note is there were no towels or toiletries available so come with your own things. But place was quiet and simple!

Response from Mike:
Towels are available in the cupboard above the toilet marked "Towels for all". Other toiletries that are for guest use are marked with orange stickers as indicated in the rules. I was not notified of anything being unavailable but I will check it out this morning. Please PM me with specifics. Thanks!

I'm a Computer Network Professional. I am also ex-Air Force so military and civilian government employees are especially welcome here! I work nights, so I will probably be asleep most of the day.

I used to travel a lot, but now I'm a bit tied down to the San Antonio area. There is a lot to do here anyway so its a fun place to live.

I believe people should be very respectful of each other here and people of any religious affiliation or lacking thereof are welcome to stay here judgement free. Please keep in mind, under local and state law, nobody can be discriminated against from renting out property based on religion, gender, sexuality or military service. This is America! All the huddled masses are welcome.

I am super allergic to cats and dogs though! That is why I don't allow them.
