The appartment is in the residential side of the village Fino Del Monte (End of the Mountain) so it is very peaceful while at the same time close to shops etc. As you enter, there is an open-space kitchen area connected to the living-room /TV area where there is a fire stove. There are two large dinning tables with a total of 8 chairs.
It has 1 double bedroom and 1 single bedroom, and there is a couch in the living room. There is private parking space just outside the appartment and a front yard where you can catch the sun for most of the day. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter with firestove and central heating. It is very spacious and bright as the sun catches it all day long.
It can be your base to explore the magnifiscense of the greater area but it is also ideal for longer stays in a relaxing and inspiring environment.
Everything you would find in a normal house is here:
Fully operational kitchen with oven, cutlery and crockery
Sound system with 5 speakers and subwoofer
Closets and filling space
Bed linen, towels table cloths etc
Wood for the stove
This really depends on you! If you prefer being left alone then that is exactly what you will experience. On the other hand there has been times when we ended up eating all together, tasting the products of my uncle's farm, and my mother's cooking. The important thing is that YOU relax and have the time and space to be how you like :)
Our village is called Fino Del Monte -The end of the Mountain, and it is exactly that --situated at the foot of Blum Mountain (1300m) - which you can see from our front yard. The highest peak in the region is Mt. Presolana (2520m).
The village itself is a picturesque place with cobbled streets all round, colourful stone houses and three small castelettes of the old times. There is also a very beautiful natural park (Parco Res) where you can enjoy yourself in leisure.
The greater area is one of the most beautiful mountain areas of Europe. People come here all year round to experience this close raport with the vastness of mountainous nature.
There is plenty to do around here like skiing, trekking, mountaineering and bird-watching, horse back riding, parapent gliding and cycling (there is a beautiful cycling path of 35km that takes you all the way to Bergamo).
In the summer people go to lake Iseo (15km from here) to enjoy the water.
You can visit the hot springs of Boario Terme (30km) that are open all year round. There is even a spa in Bratto -Castione Della Presolana (4km).
In Rovetta there is a small but quite important art museum -Museo dei Fantoni. In Clusone there is the Planetary Clock made by Pietro Fanzago - the only one in the whole world, and another unique fresco inside a church called 'Danza Macabra'.
Apart from 'things to do' there is also... 'things to eat' --all local products are exquisite and pure but you have to try the typical 'mountain cheeses' of the area, the famous potatoes of Rovetta and of course the fresh mountain water!
The closest airport is that of Bergamo (with many Ryanair low cost flights). To come here from Bergamo there is regular bus service (around one hour's journey).
From Brescia there is a train that takes you till Pisogne (around 30') and from there you take another bus (another half hour) to arrive.
Distances from various places:
Clusone (3,5km) Rovetta (500m) Lovere (15km) Bergamo (35km) Brescia (120km) Milano (80km) Boario Terme (30km) Castione Della Presolana (4km) Monte Pora (5km) Monte Presolana (2520m) Bicycle path connecting Rovetta with Bergamo (35km) following Serio river
In general treat it with respect, as if it were your own house. You can smoke insode but perhaps air the place well in the morning so the smell doesn't remain. This is a quite place so perhaps it is better if you don't throw a big party here!
