Recently updated, this cozy old ranger house located at historic Packwood Station close to Mt. Rainier National Park and White Pass Ski Area is the perfect mountain getaway. We are just down the road from the trailhead to Packwood Lake and walking distance to amenities in town. The fire pit and charcoal grill in the backyard are perfect for evenings of BBQ'ing and making s'mores! Take a walk to the waterfall on our property and watch the elk grazing in the yard.

Fantastic base for exploring Rainier, the Ranger House is a charming, quiet and relaxing location. Tracy was super quick to respond with recommendations during our stay. Great to be able to walk to the local supermarket, Mt Goat coffee shop and of course the Blue Spruce Saloon…

Hi Miriam, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We are renovating bit by bit, building by building, but we like some of the history and the historic feel. I like you mentioned that the old kitchen cupboard was special in your private note ... it belonged to my great grandmother :)

Based on our research, Packwood is the most convenient town for accessing Mt. Rainier National Park, and this house is right in the middle of Packwood. Very spacious rooms, and well maintained. Very comfortable. Get up early in the morning to see all the elk in the backyard.

We had a great time staying here. I loved that we could walk to the local restaurants and that it was a short drive to the trails near Mt Ranier. Plus it was fun staying in an old ranger house!

My husband and I own Packwood Station, a former ranger station just outside the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. We have been teachers for many years. We love to visit family and fun places, and hope to retire soon and do that a lot more often!
