Private own Cabin and Yard on pavement less than 1 hr from Calgary/Red Deer. Couples/2 person weekend or longer getaway. Reset, unwind & relax in our comfy/cozy cabin with large deck, napping nook and large outdoor shower & firepit all to yourselves. 2 Adult occupancy, no smoking or drugs, no pets/animals (please don't ask) & not suitable for children.
The space
The Space
This amazing cabin has been our “labour of love” for several years. We have tried to provide you with everything you might possibly need to for a relaxing, enjoyable and memorable stay.
This private cozy rustic Cabin has it all. It is surrounded by wide open prairie/pasture on one side, large evergreen trees on the other side and spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. The Cabin is located on pavement 45 minutes North of Calgary in scenic Mountain View County. Close enough to Calgary in distance but miles apart in lifestyle. Whether relaxing, rewinding, re-setting or a stop off point on your trip, this beautiful completely equipped and decorated Cabin will be sure to tick off all the boxes for everyone.
Enjoy the warmth and comfort inside the Cabin or step out onto the large decks to take in the view, and enjoy the sun for a morning coffee. You will likely catch a glimpse of the variety of wildlife here on the farm, many species of birds including hawks, eagles and owls. Also, deer, foxes, coyotes and the occasional moose. There may also be cow/calf pairs grazing nearby depending on the time of year.
While the Cabin is rustic and features a country feel, it is fully modern and connected. Choose to spend your time outside stargazing and making Smore's around the fire pit or chill inside watching satellite TV, streaming via wireless Wi-Fi or listen to music via Bluetooth. Cell service is also good. There are also some books, board games, and cards. You decide it’s your time to relax!
Interior Space
Enter the 500 sq ft open floorplan plus loft Cabin via the large and bright south facing French doors. You are immediately drawn to the openness of the high ceilings with open beams that add a rustic charm. The space is bright, warm and cozy and decorated with many antique and vintage items.
Kitchen Space
The kitchen offers ample counter space and cupboards and a generous sized custom built island for preparing and enjoying your meals. There is a double sink with running hot and cold water. All kitchen essentials and extras including dishes, pots and pans, utensils and accessories are available in this fully equipped kitchen. Appliances include a full size fridge/freezer, electric stove with oven, microwave, toaster, blender, kettle and of course a Keurig coffee maker. We are supplying the basics such as coffee/tea and coffee cream for the first morning of your stay as well as sugar, salt & pepper, basic spices, paper towel and 5 gal bottle of drinking water.
Living Area
The cozy living area is spacious and comfortable featuring a futon which folds out to a double bed. Relax and read a book, watch TV or simply listen to the quiet solitude that the property offers. The living area contains a 32” TV with a Shaw Satellite receiver and sound bar with Bluetooth capability. There is a wood burning stove and firewood provided for those cooler or chilly nights. There is also a temperature controlled electric heater if you prefer.
Bedroom Low Clearance Loft Area (5 foot at peak) accessible by a log ladder. Please review pictures.
Enjoy the peaceful quiet nights and have a refreshing sleep in the 120 sq ft sleeping loft. The loft is accessible via a handcrafted log ladder from the main floor. The loft has just been updated to a new queen bed with fluffy pillows and a cozy warm duvet cover. There are night tables, dresser drawers and an area to hang your clothes. All bedlinens are provided.
Bathroom
The Cabin features a small 3-piece bath on the main floor with running hot and cold water that contains a stand up shower, flush toilet and sink. All towels and face clothes are provided.
Outdoor space
Enjoy the convenience of parking 15 feet from the front door of the privately situated Cabin with private yard. You will love spending your days and evenings on the 300+ sq ft elevated and partially covered south and west facing decks. Take a nap in a secluded napping nook on a 7 foot napping bench. Or take some shade on the warmer summer afternoons on the vintage, rustic hay wagon that has been turned into a unique deck/sitting area. The outdoor highlight is a huge outdoor shower with running hot/cold water and a change area. We have tried to think of everything to enable all guests to enjoy their outdoor time as much as possible. There is a propane gas BBQ, patio furniture, fire pit, wiener forks and firewood available for your use as well as a few yard games while enjoying the lovely well-kept and landscaped yard.

Access to Cabin:
The cabin is privately located on land conveniently located off a paved secondary highway. There is a gravel driveway off the main road and you can park 15 feet from the front door to the Cabin.
Guest access
Guests are able to access the cabin and immediate yard surrounding the Cabin. No access to owners house, yard or buildings.
Other things to Note
The Cabin is designed for maximum capacity of 2 Adults Only. Must be over 18 years of age.
It is Not suitable for Children, No Pets, No Smoking, No Drugs, No exceptions. Please don’t ask.
Cabin Rules and Check Our Protocol
1) No Smoking or vaping of any substance inside the Cabin. If you wish to smoke outside, please do not throw or extinguish butts on the ground. Provide your own sealable non flammable container to take your butts home with you. We do not have garbage pickup. Absolutely no Drugs permitted.
2) Please remove your outdoor shoes after entering the Cabin. We recommend you bring indoor footwear or slippers as the floor can be cool.
3) Campfires will only be allowed if there are no Municipal or Provincial Fire Bans in place. Please keep the campfire small. You are surrounded by flammable vegetation. Never leave the campfire unattended and please use discretion on windy conditions. Please insure that the campfire has been completely extinguished with water before leaving it unattended or retiring for the night. There is an exterior garden hose available.
4) We are on a private septic therefore, do not pour cooking grease down the drain or pour it outside (it attracts wildlife). There is a grease container under the kitchen sink please utilize this. Do not flush anything beside human waste and toilet paper down the toilet. Please use the provided garbage for all feminine products.
5) Garbage and recycling. We do not have curbside garbage pick up here in the country. Please do your best to sort your garbage for recycling and disposal. We will advise you of the procedure during check-in.
6) Check out list:
- Leave sheets, duvet and pillows on the bed.
- Put all used and soiled towels and cloths in the provided Laundry basket.
- Wash and dry all of your used dirty dishes and leave on the counter or kitchen island. We will put them away.
- Make sure all your garbage, recyclables & empty drink containers are sorted and in the appropriate bins.
- Please leave the cabin key on the kitchen island and push in the lock button on the door as you leave.
- Make sure all outdoor areas are clean and orderly and left as you found them at check in.
- Please review the premises and make sure you have all your personal belongings
