Light filled, quiet bedroom on the third floor of our Tudor house in the historic neighborhood of College Hill. Second bedroom available for two more guests in the same party. Quaint private bath with tub (no shower). Wonderful views through the treetops. Wake to songbirds in the morning.
This third floor room is simple and tastefully decorated, with room to hang clothing in the armoire. The queen sized bed has a tempurpedic mattress. Linens, cotton sheets, and duvet are provided. Views are through the treetops of enormous oaks, and the entire space is relaxing and peaceful. A fan is available, or central air/heat if necessary.
Another adjacent room is available with a double bed. This room can accommodate another guest or two, allowing accommodation for up to 4 people in the same party. Please note, if the second room is used, there is an additional cost of $30 per person, even if only one person is staying in the first room.
We are not handicap accessible - there is a fairly steep flight of stairs from the driveway up to the house, and two more flights inside to get to the third floor.
Two friendly french bulldogs add to the ambiance at no extra charge.
Guests can enjoy the shared living room, and dining room. There are also porches in the front and back of the house, available for guests, and perfect for reading or relaxing.
Household wifi password available upon arrival.
Interaction with guests
We love getting to know our guests, but if you prefer to have time to yourself and don't want to chat, that's okay too.
Sam and I are happy to give recommendations for restaurants, things to see, places to hike, etc.
Limited kitchen privileges (you can store things in the fridge, make tea/coffee, etc).
Please be tidy. No meals in the bedroom. General decorum expected.
Other things to note
As described, there is no stand-up shower in the private bathroom. This is due to the configuration of the knee wall/roof: there is no room for a full shower. The tub is a deep antique, perfect for a good soak.
There are stairs from the road to the house. Within the house, there are two flights to the third floor.
Please no smoking. Although we do love pets and children, the space is not appropriate for either. We don't expect you in at a certain time, but if you are late we would like to know, and ask you to please be very quiet in the house after 10:30.
I am a teacher and love beekeeping, hiking, books, sailing and travel. I have a particular interest in art and history, as well as sustainability and urban renewal. I enjoy exploring the new - and pondering the old. My husband and I have four children - one still at home, and three who are off doing things in the world. We also have two wonderful french bulldogs, who make us laugh every day.
