We are Alysa Hawkins and Jesse Parker. We live in a former public school which is part B&B, part concert venue.
We stumbled across a Kijiji ad for the school and couldn't resist the chance to relocate to South Prince Edward County and re-use the wonderful building, which was used as a public school from 1960 to 2011. "South" (short for South Marysburgh Central School) is our home to us, our children and our golden-doodle year-round.
Lots of visitors to Prince Edward County have never been to our neck of the woods. We're well off the beaten path. South Marysbugh Township remains a quiet farmland with lots of wild places and unspoiled scenery. Not a lot has changed around here in the last 150 years or so, but the roads are a lot better (winky-winky emoticon.) The wineries of South Marysburgh benefit from the soil and micro-climate at the southern tip of the County, and the wines from down here are the very best in the County. Quieter roads make South Marysburgh a haven for cyclists who visit for awesome lakeside rides.
We enjoy sharing our unique property with visitors from all over the world. Thanks, everyone, for your interest!
