Beautifully-restored coach house in the heart of historic Cabbagetown, a beautiful downtown neighbourhood. Close to everything: public transit, bars and famous pubs, restaurants, parks, bike trails, shopping, gay village. We have gotten great reviews, so please read them. Guests have described the place as "a designer’s gem", and "an oasis". We are constantly improving the place to make your stay as ideal as possible. If you have special needs, let us know.

The space

After 105 reviews! A rare accomplishment! We could not have done it without our wonderful guests. So thank you. Make sure you read all the wonderful guest comments. We are committed to making your stay as good as it gets.

This is a two-story, detached coach house with nearly 700 square feet (70 sq. meters) of living space. We pride ourselves in making your stay with us as perfect as it can be. We are always improving the coachhouse, making it better so you can enjoy the space.

New quartz kitchen counter tops.

Now equipped with Apple TV for your entertainment, and a new 32-inch superthin TV.

Bell Fibe Satellite TV with over 250 channels, including a dozen sports channels.

We also change the cushions and decor every season.

We greet you warmly upon arrival and show you all the ins and outs of the coachhouse. To help welcome you, you will find a complimentary bottle of wine, and pastries or croissants from the award-wining caterers, Daniel et Daniel (they cater receptions for the Queen when she is in town; they are just up the street from us).

Luscious interiors (always being upgraded) include all amenities you would expect in your home of a grand hotel, and more!!! Many custom-made features, tasteful and rich decor: bed, tables were all custom-made and crafted for the space. Everything designed to make your stay the most comfortable possible.

The private coachhouse is on two floors, with access to a beautifully landscaped backyard (shared) with a professional gas BBQ (May to October). Eat inside or outside. So sit back and sip wine on a nice sunny day; or after visiting the local butcher and enjoy a nice meal al fresco.

The coachhouse sleeps 4 comfortably.

The first floor contains everything you need to cook up a storm and enjoy a nice, relaxing meal. It has a fully-equipped kitchen and eating area; coffee maker, toaster. We offer you complimentary coffee and a nice variety of teas and tisanes. The refrigerator is stocked with all the basics: mustard, ketchup, various mustards (a selection of DIjon mustards we brought back from ..... Dijon!), butter, mayonnaise and more.

Kitchen includes all new appliances: dishwasher, microwave, stove, refrigerator and freezer; includes all dishes, all pots and pans. We have a variety of spices; salts from around the world (see in pictures); pepper; and various olive oils (see in pictures) from our travels around the world. Equipped to cook up a storm with professional/chef knives. We love food and the coach house reflects this. So choose olive oil from Lebanon, Greece, Italy, Chili or Peru!!

The second floor is an open, loftstyle living space, with a living area (with pull out couch that sleeps 2), with specially-designed/handmade down throw cushions, and a sleeping area with a beautiful queensize, hand-made wrought-iron bed (made specifically for the coachhouse by local craftsman), with hand-made bedside tables. It has a beautiful skylight through which you can see the stars on a nice night.

Bed and couch each have 4 ridiculously-comfortable pillows.

On top of it all, all bed sheets are new, 600-threadcount, freshly laundered and ironed each time, with nicely starched pillow cases. In the winter, enjoy a nice warm down duvet (in the spring and fall, we offer a lighter down duvet blanket).

For the bathroom, we have the softest towels, hand and face cloths (1 set per guest), soaps (body wash for men and women) and shampoos, shaving cream, air freshener, toilet paper, and blow dryer. We also include the necessities for women to take off their makeup (and men too - hey its 2016!!)

You will find a variety of creams and some facial masks. So at the end of the day, if you want to relax and give yourself a mask, on-hand you will find individual-sized packets of various facial masks. So moisturize and mask !!!

The coachhouse also includes a washer and a dryer. So step out on the town with freshly laundered clothes. There is also an iron available.

If the weather is not cooperating, don't worry. Stay in and play with one of our board games, or snuggle up and watch a movie. You can choose from over 150 DVDs, something for everyone, even the children.

We have everything you need. Umbrella, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, laundry facilities (for an extra fee, we will be happy to wash and iron your clothes), shoe shining box. Just check in, and leave the rest to us.

We will bring you fresh towels, and freshly laundered and ironed bed sheets and pillow cases at the beginning of the second week (and every week thereafter).

There are several award-wining pubs within 2 blocks in any directions (House on Parliament was voted best Pub food in Toronto; The Stout was voted Best Pub in Toronto. There is also great sushi, great Thai food (Toronto NOW magazine and BlogTO rated Sukho Thai the best in Toronto and that's 2 blocks away from the house). There are 2 great grocery stores 2 blocks away, a butcher, and so much more.

Or visit The Epicure Shop, one of Toronto's top 10 delis (Blog TO).

We live next to a public library, and an amazing state-of-the-art indoor city pool (built in 2015), and admission is free.

And of course, we are only 1 km away from Riverdale Farm, so bring your children and visit the goats, ducks, pigs, horses, chickens and more.

PLEASE, NO ACTIVITIES OF A COMMERCIAL NATURE ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES. NO PARTIES or receptions of any kind. No more than 6 individuals in the coachhouse at any time. If you have friends coming over that exceeds this number, please discuss it with us prior to booking. Please see house rules.

Guests have access to the entire coachhouse, and we hope you will enjoy the backyard. Buy steaks at the local butcher and kick up the BBQ (May-October only).

You have your own entrances to the yard, and the coachhouse is completely separate from the main house. We are available at anytime to answer your questions. If there is something missing, let us know.

We offer free wifi. Password given upon arrival.

The Coach House was absolutely delightful, as were Louis-Philippe and Tyrone. It was definitely home from home. They had thought of everything, from a wide range of toiletries to a huge selection of DVD's and a wonderful array of oils, mustards, salts, spices, teas and coffees in the kitchen. Fresh bread, cheese and juice awaited us on arrival and we spent many hours chatting to our hosts in the garden, watching the raccoons and learning about local sights and Canadian culture. Nothing was too much trouble. The area is quite mixed but The Coach House was very safe and quiet, yet just a 30 minute walk to downtown Toronto. I would highly recommend both the house and the hosts.

Every aspect of our visit to Louis-Philippe and Tyrone's Coach house was magnificent. I can't say enough about them and their exquisite creation. Every detail has been thought out and taken beyond expectations. Beautiful, elegant, comfortable and easy, from their communications to their custom pillows and amazing collection of salts from around the world. Their design sense and love of hosting is really on another level. By far the best Airbnb experience I have ever had. I can't wait to return.

Louis-Philippe and Tyrone were incredibly accommodating and gracious hosts. We felt right at home from the moment we checked in. The carriage house is just as pictured and the shared yard provides a beautiful space to enjoy your coffee and make plans for the day. There are several nearby options for transportation (bike share, street cars, etc.) and great bars and restaurants right in the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone making their first trip to the city!

We are a fun couple who love wine, good food and good friends. I am a university professor, and my partner is a real estate photographer and freelance journalist.

We are perfect together. I love to garden; Tyrone, well, loves having a nice garden :) I loves to cook, he loves to eat.

We both enjoy pop culture, music, and movies, and traveling all over the world.

Our goal is to make your stay nothing short of exceptional.
