Boreas Cottage is set in a heritage 'goblet style '7000m2 vineyard with a terraced area for relaxing, stargazing or yoga.
If you enjoy nature, peace and quiet, away from the Bozcaada summer crowds then this could be the perfect place for you.

The space
Boreas Cottage has three spacious bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen with basic utensils for simple cooking and a small kitchenette on the lower level, an area for dining both inside and out, a lounge area with a fireplace and a terrace.
The cottage is set on two levels, ground level and below, a special feature of the island’s strict building code designed to maintain the integrity of the traditional vineyards, wildflower borders and encourage valuable wildlife. Each level is accessed by separate entrances.

Set in an established traditional 7000m2 vineyard with a terraced area for relaxing or yoga, a heritage ‘goblet’ trained vineyard, (a style of vine training that dates back to ancient Roman times) and wild flower areas this area adjoins a protected area of archeological interest. We are very proud to be the owners of this protected vineyard and are keen to continue the tradition for future generations to share.

It is the ideal place for those of you who love nature and the sea. Located just five minutes walk from two local beaches ( one of them a lovely little known cove ) it is a haven to savour.

Guests will have exclusive access to the whole property and grounds.

The 7000 m2 vineyard is maintained for guests to enjoy ( they might even get to harvest the local Cavus grapes or press their own grape juice from the Kuntra grapes). The vigneron's job is never finished and extremely labour intensive so expect to see your Bozcaada host, Linda, on occasions, as she checks on the vines or other areas of the grounds. With climatic changes we are having to adapt our vineyard procedures hence If need be Linda will contact you should vine maintenance be required and arrange a time which is convenient for you to carry out necessary procedures.

Within the land there is also a raised terrace deck designed for relaxing or yoga. Mats are available or bring your own if you are a keen yogi/ yogini.

The Boreas cottage is located about 3 kms from the ferry. It's in a very quiet rural corner of Bozcaada away from the hustle and bustle of the town. If you want to get away from it all this could be the place for you.

There is no public transport to this area. If you are not a keen walker you will need a car. Cars, mopeds and bicycles can be hired in the town.

Guest access
Guests will have exclusive access to the cottage and the entire 7000m2 grounds of the grounds.

Other things to note
There are VERY strict laws regarding loud music enforced on Bozcaada. Please keep all noise to a minimum after 23.59pm.

The approach road is a narrow, uneven country lane . You’ll probably need to have access to a car to get here as it’s a 15 minute walk from the ferry.

Let's communicate openly both before and during your stay. Please share the profile of the group with me and I will do my best to serve your needs.

I am very flexible with the check in time if there are no guests that are checking out on the day of your arrival.

Please note that we are required by law to register all guests with the local police therefore we will require a photo of your passport or ID documentation before or upon arrival. Unlike many other Airbnbs in Bozcaada we operate legally, are routinely checked by health and safety officials and are fully licensed with the Bozcaada authorities.
An official VAT inclusive receipt will be issued to you at the end of your stay.

As this is an unspoilt environment do not be surprised by the very wide range of wildlife. We actively encourage local wild flowers species as we are beekeepers. We do not use herbicides or pesticides so there are large butterfly, bee and other insect populations. All windows are screened however some insects are very resilient and will sneak in an open door!!!

We have solar energy panels for heating the water. The tank has a capacity of 200 liters. Please use it sparingly

During the summer months water can be scarce. We have a water tank for those periods of low water supply and a water pump. Please use sparingly during periods of low water supply so you don’t run out.

We have a cleaning lady available if guests request cleaning services [there is an extra charge paid directly to the cleaning lady herself].

Hello! I decided to open my places for guests all over the world. I have lived, studied and worked in different cities around the world so I understand the mindset of a traveller and most importantly I value diversity very highly. Everybody is welcome to my places! My name is Can (pronounced Jahn in Turkish). Born and raised in Istanbul, I'm half British half Turkish. Before renting out my places I live in them for a few weeks to understand what is missing and furnish them accordingly. I only use designer furniture, hotel type high thread count linens and towels and only the best in home appliances. I take full care of my guests when they stay in one of my places and go the extra mile to fulfil special requests. My housekeepers are responsible for preparing my places. If you have any issue with the facility or utilities, it can be addressed through me, and they will handle it. All my linens and towels are professionally washed and ironed to give that hotel like feeling for your comfort. All my places are registered officially with the Police (no suprise visits - unlike 99% of Airbnbs!!) and the Tax Office. I require all my guests to submit their passports upon arrival due to the short term law imposed in Turkey. All my bookings are legal, I issue invoices for all of them and I can provide you an invoice through email.
