County Clare, Ireland

The chalet is within our family property located in the beautiful Oughtmama Valley. At the end of a tree lined avenue the house and chalet are located between the two Burren mountains of Abbey Hill and the Witch’s Bite. The chalet is ten minutes drive from both Kinvara and Ballyvaughan with easy access to local beaches at the Flaggy Shore (5 mins), Bishopsquarter Beach (10 mins), and Trácht(15 mins). The chalet is the perfect location for hill walkers with access to Burren Green roads and sites of historical and archaeological interest such as the Oughtmama churches and Corcomroe Abbey. Enjoy peace, tranquility & privacy in this comfortable space with dramatic views of the valley.
The chalet is nestled at the foot of Oughtmama Mountain amongst ash, hazel and whitethorn trees. Guests have a private limestone flagged area for outdoor dining and a separate seating area overlooking the valley with access to a fire pit – perfect for relaxing and stargazing after a day on the mountains.
You are welcome to come and find us if you need anything or have a problem. We are generally around gardening or in the main house.
Other things to note
Please note - we have a very friendly dog called Dante and a more austere but occasionally friendly cat, Beatrice. They spend most of their time in the family home but you may encounter them in the garden area.

A cosy self contained cottage for 2 in a rural, picturesque off road setting with gorgeous Burren views. Double bedroom, large shower room, comfortable sitting and dining area and fully equipped kitchen perfect for cooking a meal or two. Easy access to all the Burren's attractions as well as Galway, Shannon and Limerick. Close to the sea and local beaches, Aillwee Caves, Cliffs of Moher, Burren Perfumery, and Chocolatier at the Hazel Mountain Chocolate Café (just down the road) . A great place to return to after a day exploring all the area has to offer.
We are surrounded by the hills and mountains of the Buren so internet/cell/mobile cover is not available but can be accessed in the main house, if required.
Maps and Information on the attractions and walks in the Burren area available.

We built our own house 11 years ago, and we love living here in the Oughtmama Valley and we think you'll like it too.
We live on site and so we're available if you need advice on places to eat, things to do, and we can help with arranging activities, if you wish.
