🗑️ GARBAGE: In summer July/Aug, guests may leave behind maximum 3 bags of garbage on-site. All other months, guests must remove all garbage off the premises at the end of their stay, by taking it to the nearest disposal site (about 15 min drive). We provide 1 tag for disposal of up to 3 bags of garbage.
LINEN: In summer, July/Aug, bed linen/sheets are provided. All other months, guests must bring their own bed sheets. Pillows and bed quilts are always provided. Towels not provided. Guests must bring their own towels all year round.
🛁 SEPTIC: Extra care of the septic tank is required. Do NOT flush anything except natural waste and toilet paper (not even items labelled "flushable"). Do not put food scraps, grease, or cooking oil down the kitchen sink. Septic is very sensitive and it will cause blockage. Should this happen, extra charges will be charged to the guest.
🧳 Please bring your own:
• Towels for hand/bath/swimming
• Bed linen/sheets (Sept thru Oct, please bring your own sheets for the beds you plan on using. Pillows and bed quilts will be provided). We have adjusted our pricing accordingly.
• Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash
• Groceries/Pantry items/Coffee (starter K-cups and tea provided)

Dishware: We recommend guests pre-wash glasses and dishware before use. It is the guest's responsibility to clean all dishes and cooking utensils at the end of their stay. Our cleaners do their best to look over everything but we are also conscious of keeping guest cleaning fees down. Thank you for understanding.
Starter kit: Basic toiletries and essentials will be provided for all our guests at the beginning of their stay such as toilet paper, paper towel, hand soap, dish soap, tea, K-cups. It will then be the guest's responsibility to provide for these, should they need additional. Clear garbage bags and blue recycling bags will be provided (one needed for paper/cardboard and one needed for cans/plastics/glass).
🔧 Seasonal Maintenance: We maintain our property regularly. Our property manager may drop by for seasonal maintenance, mow the lawn, landscape or other exterior work. He does not have a set schedule and may come during your stay, although we will try to notify you in advance. You do not need to be home and he will not come inside. Thank you for understanding.
Wildlife: Although rare, wildlife sightings may be possible in the area of Haliburton and surrounding Algonquin Park (such as deer, bear, coyotes, groundhog). We kindly ask guests to be mindful when out and about in the local area. Please do not leave food outdoors on the patio, BBQ, picnic table or other.
SUMMER NOTES:
The property faces south so lots of sun in the summer.
💦 Swimming conditions are excellent on Kushog Lake. Clean water, sandy bottom, gradual entry for kiddos.
The depth off the main dock in front of the cottage is not suitable for diving as it is shallow (about 5ft). The swim platform located between the two docks is available for diving and jumping off. Do not dive off of any of the docks.
The dock near the shed has sharp rocks, please do not swim here.
We do provide a few life jackets:
2 Kids (55-88lbs)
1 Adult S
2 Adult M
1 Adult L
1 Adult 2XL
2 Standard
Sizes are limited and we kindly ask guests to bring their own.
🪿 Canada geese like to visit the property. While we do our best to maintain our lawn, it is not always possible to control geese droppings. Please be mindful.
A portion of the dock for launching watercraft and tying up your boat is removed from mid-September due to low water levels and for your safety. You can still sit & relax on the dock with Muskoka chairs and enjoy the sunsets from the dock!
Thank you! We know you will have a great time at this Algonquin Delight!
