Relax outside in the private garden of my lovely secluded flat. A huge extension contains farmhouse style kitchen/diner and spacious living room. Two large doubles and a bunk room with a further double bed. Great for exploring Suffolk's beaches & beautiful countryside.

The space
Situated in the village of Melton my unique ground floor garden flat is very spacious with a layout that is ideally suited for two families sharing. My truly functional kitchen has beautiful oak worktops and a rustic feel although it is fully equipped with modern appliances and dishwasher. The main bedroom has an en-suite toilet and small wash basin. Opposite the second, light and airy, bedroom is the main bathroom which has a bath with shower over and toilet. In the third bedroom there is a triple bunk bed, a full size double underneath a single bunk on top. I addition I have a z bed that can be erected if needed. Both the kitchen and lounge have patio doors that open on to the sunny garden.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire home and garden which includes the barbecue.

I just love this neighbourhood to bits, my apartment is on a small estate of mixed properties. I moved here 8 years ago and am still exploring. Melton is just five minutes by car from the twists and turns of old Woodbridge, a quaint little market town....a bit like stepping back in time...... with its own cinema, theatre and swimming pool. It has a model boating lake, a tiny town beach, tennis courts and very well equipped children's playgrounds. You will be spoilt for choice....there are lots of independent shops and some lovely places to eat. There are many ancient buildings in the narrow streets but perhaps the biggest attraction is the Tide Mill, one of only two in the country that still grinds wheat. Set right on the river its lovely location makes it, probably, the most photographed and painted building in Suffolk. From my place I often walk into Woodbridge along the banks of the river Deben, about 25 minutes. When the tide is in, it is just glorious and, when the tide is low, you can watch the water birds feeding. Or walk the other way, and you will arrive at Sutton Hoo where the Anglo Saxon's buried their king, not in a grave, but in his ship. Within twenty minute's drive is Shingle Street....yes, no sand on this beach, but breathtaking.....with its iconic coast guard cottages. You can see Orford Castle and the Ness from here. Another iconic village to explore. Also Bawdsey (home of radar) where the Deben river meets the sea. Here you can hail the ferry to take you across to Felixstowe which has everything from the UK's biggest container port (and great viewing area), Landguard Fort (built to repel the French) and the usual seaside delights. Snape, with the famous maltings, Aldeburgh's equally famous fish and chips, Orford's Norman castle keep, and Southwold....home of Adnams Ales... are all within half an hour's drive. And then there are all the beautiful, unspoilt villages set in Suffolk's rolling countryside....too many to name. And the kids will love walking the battlements of Framlingham Castle, activities at the Museum of East Anglian Life, Stonham Barns Owl Sanctuary and Eastern Farm Park. Fancy a round of golf? there's 2 courses within 3 Miles. But, fear not, I will leave a list of all my favourite places......you choose!!

Hi, I love my home and garden but I do spend quite a bit of time in Melbourne where I have a lovely flat. Melbourne is a fabulous city. It is good to have the opposites of city life versus the coast and country of Suffolk. I enjoy, cooking, gardening and reading, as you will see if you rent my place. I volunteer at our wonderful Tide Mill in Woodbridge, this is great fun. I now know a lot about the Mill but also get to meet really interesting people. I have four children of which only one lives nearby. The rest are scattered all over the globe so I frequently get to travel to see them and my four little grandsons. I am out and about a lot as I also enjoy cycling and sailing on our lovely river Deben. Even just walking along the banks of the ever changing river gives me real joy. At low tide there are a myriad of birds feeding on the mud, if the tide is in, then there are sailing boats and swans to watch.
