Our newly converted flat is situated in the heart of historic Bradford on Avon, between a quaint tearoom and a lovely restaurant. The light, airy upstairs bedroom has a comfy double bed, and there is also a sofa bed in the open plan living room / kitchen, only really suitable for children, as it is quite small.

The space

Welcome to our one bedroom flat in the newly renovated Georgian Lodge. We take it in turns to work here during the week, so tend to let the flat out for long weekends - Thursday to Monday, for example. However, we can be flexible about this, so do ask if you would like to stay for longer, or mid-week.

Our flat is through the archway you can see in the photo of The Georgian Lodge; our main window overlooks the communal courtyard. This means that while the flat does not have the immediate view of BoA, it is much quieter than it would be if it were facing the road.

Once through the archway we are accessed via some stone steps, so we do not feel the flat will be suitable for the elderly or infirm. There is also a pane of glass in the bedroom which could be hazardous for young children, so we will happily accommodate babies who are not yet mobile, but not inquisitive toddlers - our own son is now five and we're nervous of letting him near it!

The bed upstairs is a double, the sofa bed is a bit smaller than a double, so is really most comfortable for one child, though we have had fully grown adults sleep on it quite happily!

Guest access

We would like our guests to feel completely at home, and so the cupboards will be stocked with basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil for cooking. We also supply milk and one or two bits and pieces for the beginning of each stay.

Other things to note

Please note some things which may be relevant to your choice of accommodation. Firstly, the mobile phone access in our flat is not good.

Also, Bradford on Avon is not an easy place to park in! There is free parking in the car park outside the Georgian Lodge on Sundays - a daily rate applies at other times. For more advice, please contact us.

Lastly, we are also open to longer term lets so if this is of interest to you, please do not hesitate to contact us.

This is a strictly non-smoking flat, and we also ask guests not to smoke in the communal courtyard, for the sake of our neighbours. Because it is a small, friendly community, we would be really grateful if guests could refrain from making too much noise, particularly after 10.30 pm and before 8.00 am.

Also, it seems to be customary for airbnb hosts to charge a fee for cleaning. We feel it's a bit cheeky asking for extra on top of what you've already paid! So we appreciate it if people could leave the flat clean and tidy.

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - Slightly uneven steps to front door - we have a first floor flat. There is also a flight of stairs to the bedroom.
No parking on property - Three car parks less than 5 minutes away - all free from 6pm to 8am and on Sundays

We arrived to a wonderful spotless apartment. The apartment is located right in the centre of town and had everything we needed for our stay in Bradford on Avon. Liz was great with providing all the information we needed including things to do around the area as well. I would not hesitate to recommend Liz's place to anyone else who was wanting to spend some time here in this beautiful town and area.

The apartment is bright and clean and comfortable. Liz was a wonderful communicator and was kind enough to lay in a few supplies that, supplemented with a trip to the Co-op nearby, made it possible to have breakfasts and lunches in or on the paths. We cycled the #4 cycle path (and throw in a recommendation for TT cycle hire as well) and it was beautiful! Also strolled up to the Saxon church and to the park across the road. The only thing that we encountered that was less pleasant were the tea rooms next door - absolutely enchanting to look at but staff that really couldn't care less....we ended up walking out prior to any service. The Secret Garden over in Weaver's Walk was a wonderful cream tea. I highly recommend it and know we will seek it out for a return trip!!

We have been waiting to post a review about Liz and her place because we are still slightly in awe. Not only were we completely taken aback by the beauty of Bradford on Avon but the Georgian Lodge was absolutely, perfect. Liz was the host of our dreams, truly, as she contacted us prior to our departure to ensure that she would buy the right ingredients that we fancied for our morning coffee. Her directions were specific and detailed and the house was immaculate and beautifully done. Liz was so kind to even stop by after we had moved in to introduce herself and we are very pleased that she did. She had amazing suggestions for our day trip to Bath and managed to better our time even more so. We are very excited to come back and stay with you Liz!

What can I say about Liz and Tim that hasn't already been said by others (and we echo all the praise for sure)? We instantly felt part of their family, and were welcomed from the moment we booked until well after we left. The unit is perhaps more fabulous in person than online, and the details were well attended to. BoA itself is picturesque, and we didn't have to go far to fall in love with it's charm and generosity (the Thursday market in front of the unit was tiny but we enjoyed the fresh food and friendliness on our doorstep). A perfect and most relaxing holiday spot, and we couldn't have asked for more. Liz's recommendations were spot on, and we look forward to coming back again soon!

Liz was out of town when we arrived (it was a last-minute booking), but we were made to feel most welcome. Everything was lovely- the apartment was clean and spacious and comfortable, and situated in a perfect part of town- close to everything. Thanks!

Very central, well-equipped, cosy flat. The host was very friendly and excellent at responding to emails very quickly. We appreciated the flexibility on checkin/checkout times and the groceries and toiletries provided which were all great quality. Fantastic Italian restaurant right next door and all amenities close by, a great base for staying in beautiful Bradford on Avon.

Interaction with guests

We generally come and greet guests when they arrive, but we also have a key-safe so visitors can access the flat independently if we happen to be unavailable. We live very nearby and are on hand to provide any information needed for guests to get the most out of a visit to the area. We can also be contacted by phone or email should any issues arise.
