Cancellation policy

COVID-19 UPDATE: All passengers arriving in Puerto Rico must show a negative result on a molecular Covid-19 test, done within a window of 72 hours prior to arrival. Please continue reading for details.

The space
Once you get to the airport you have to fill out a simple form with your contact info, where you are staying and answer health related questions. If you didn't bring test results at all, you will be asked to quarantine for 14 days. I strongly advise to bring your results with you to have a hassle free vacation or you might get follow up texts or calls from the Department of Health.

Until October 2nd (and it might be extended), all services, restaurants, retail and beaches are open, but with limitations:
- Beaches are open to the public, but no gatherings and mandatory distance of a minimum of 6 feet.
- Curfew from 10PM-5AM. Everything shuts down at 10PM.
- Restaurants are open at 50% capacity, until 10PM.
- Retail is open at 50% capacity.
- Wearing a mask is a requirement everywhere unless you are eating/drinking. You risk a fine of $100 for not wearing it.

If you test positive for Covid-19 and you have to cancel (hopefully not!), I will reimburse you if you show proper evidence 24 hours before arrival.

Other things to note
About Rates: The peak tourist season is between December and April. July and August represents another peak tourist season. The best time to avoid the crowds and get better rates is the low season between May and November. If you see a base price on my listing that is lower is because the price depends on the dates you choose to book.

Location

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Located in the Ocean Park area of San Juan, the studio is a few steps to our local city beach, with less tourists and lots of character. If you're looking for a local neighborhood experience – super close, but not in the midst of the touristic area, this lovely studio and neighborhood are for you.

Highlights:
Kasalta Bakery, very popular among tourists and locals is only a few blocks away, as well as the colorful and mixed neighborhood of Calle Loíza, full of up and coming restaurants, bars and other picturesque local businesses. La Junta is one to go on weekends, with live music and rumba on Sunday afternoon. Taquería Acapulco (authentic Mexican), La Cueva del Mar (seafood, Puerto Rican) and Molini's (typical Puerto Rican food), all in Calle Loíza are my favorites.

The Condado tourist area is about a 15 minute walk. Supermarkets, pharmacies, gas stations (if you rent a car) and bus stops also nearby.

The things I can't live without? The beach, good food –and better drinks, my dog + cat, love and my people (not necessarily in that order). I have to add art, aesthetic experiences of all kinds, cities... I'm a native Puerto Rican, lived in New York City fifteen years, survived and came back to have a different life. I like living as a local when I travel, even if it's a couple of nights. That's the kind of experience I'd like to provide as a hostess, sharing my insights on being a San Juan citizen.
