Ben's place was everything we needed for the festival, clean and well equipped. It was lovely to escape the bustle of the city centre and Leith Walk has some excellent little shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Thank Ben, we'll be back!

House is nice, and flat is exactly how it looks in the pictures. It's well located and quite new. Lidl is in front of the house and 22 and N22 buses to the airport are 75 metres far from the front door of the building. It's suitable for 2-3 people (well, for three adults better not in a long stay) but I have to say we were a couple with our three and a half years old kid and we had a pleasant stay in the flat. He was very happy, no problem at all. Nice place to stay the only problem is the weather but this has nothing to do with the (URL HIDDEN) they say in Scotland -"summer is my favourite day of the year"and it was true! Thanks David, Elen and little Leo

We enjoyed our month at Ben's place, especially as it is central to Leith. It could be said that it is close to less than desirable areas but as Leith is an emerging trendy area, every area is. The building it is in is gated and we found the flat tidy and quiet. We would stay here again.

We were disappointed in this spot. We’ve been traveling around the world, staying one month in each place, and this was the least appealing so far. First, the good things: Ben himself is very accommodating, even though he is typically traveling and not nearby. His friend John let us in, showed us around, and was on call if something went wrong. Very nice guy. Location is fine, though Leith is still pretty rough around the edges. If you’re looking for a “charming” neighborhood, this is not it. That said, there are tons of buses that take you to downtown and all the spots within 20 minutes. Get the app—it’s a godsend. And there are fun spots along the river. Now the bad. The apartment needs some serious TLC. The bathroom was filthy. I thought at first the mildew had just stained the grout like it does sometimes, but then I ran my fingernail over it and it came off! It just needed a good scrub, which I did--for an hour. The plastic flange on the shower door is beyond cleaning; it is black with mold. The place also has not been dusted in months it appears. Several items were also missing that are helpful for a longer stay. There was no toaster, microwave, wine glasses, tv (as noted on the listing), broom, multiple keys (only one was provided), and the pots and pans (4) are campfire quality. Wifi was frustrating. There is no modem in the apartment so you use the FONE system, which taps into wifi signals across the city. It’s secured with a password/login, but it kicks you off as soon as your computer or phone is inactive for a few minutes. Get used to logging in every ten minutes unless you’re on constantly. It also gets very slow when demand is high, like on weekends. These are all things that can be easily fixed with just a little more attention to the place. But as of now, the price is not worth it.

Ben is a great host and we enjoyed our stay. Was good getting to know the area - just wish we could have seen more of the great bars and restaurants!

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Ben's apartment for four months and it was absolutely perfect. There really isn't anything I could complain about. The apartment is well-equiped overall, the description and photos are also accurate and the location has good connections for everything, though we walked most of the time to the city centre and that was okay too, around 40 minutes. The area is great, loads of restaurants and two supermarkets very close by. There is a lidl right downstairs which is also very helpful and the bus stop is also almost in front of the building. The building is beautiful and it has a private yard and it's overall very safe. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Ben is traveling a lot so we never actually got to meet him, sadly, but his friend John was always quick to answer to whatever we needed and has kindly helped us whenever we asked him too. We would absolutely love to stay here again.

Excellent experience altogether. The flat is lovely, location is great and Ben is amazing. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others who would like to visit Edinburgh. Everything was flawless from start to finish.
