Other things to note
Activities
-There is snorkelling equipment below the stairs. Explore the seabed below the villa!
-Forest walk: there is a nature pathway through the forest on the mountain above the house (Symboulos mountain). Drive to Pomos village and take the road to the right by the coffee shops. You will drive past a church. Continue towards the mountain (there are green arrows occasionally). Park and follow the marked pathway through the forest which has a sea view along most of its length. The path is linear and will take you about 3 hours to complete and finishes at Nea Dimata so better time yourself to return to your car before it gets dark or have somebody to collect you at the other end.
-Pomos Natural History Museum. In the village centre near the sea and river bed. Opening hours 07.30-14.30 (Monday to Friday) 07.30-16.00 Wednesday, 08.00-13.00 Saturday
-Boat ride to Akamas beautiful beaches from Latsi. You can rent a boat from Latsi harbour. Perhaps take “Koulla” boat and advise us on the quality of the charcoal meat we have been smelling for years when riding downwind.
-Visit the park with local plants and the adjacent Aphrodite’s baths on the Akamas peninsula (after Latsi).
-Drive to Kykkos monastery on Troodos mountain and visit mountain villages (Panayia, Platres, Kakopetria, Foini etc) and walk along the numerous Troodos nature trails. Troodos mountain is the heart of Cyprus but an early start is needed.
-Adonis waterfalls near Pafos. Interesting for children/teenagers and good pre-training area for aspiring Acapulco visitors. Swim away from the diving spot quickly before the next one jumps in.

Restaurants and cafe
-Paradise Place café-bar about 150m to the east of the house on the main road.
-Kanalli restaurant above Pomos fishing harbour . Fresh fish from owners Anna and Xanthos.
-There are 2-3 kebab restaurants in Pomos village, along the main road
-Mylos restaurant in Yialia village. Take the road to Yialia and follow the signs to Mylos restaurant. Particularly refreshing as it is in an old building with a lot of greenery and a fireplace.
-Santa Barbara beach bar/restaurant in Argaka village. You may combine it with swimming and sunbathing or walking barefoot along the beach.
-Mosfilo tavern in Polis at the turning towards Pomos. Excellent for take-away on your way to the villa.
-Follow the scenic route to Kato Pyrgos and have dinner at El Nuevo restaurant .
-Koulla’s sandwich stand about 2Km before you reach the villa. Worth visiting for the outstanding views. Reportedly there is an underground river flowing into the bay on the east of koulla’s place and Alexander the Great ships were repaired using logs cut on Troodos maintain and transported via the underground river.
-Aphrodite’s baths restaurant. Combine with a visit to aphrodite’s baths and garden and a swim on the beach below. Excellent views but avoid during August.
-Visit traditional villages in Akamas peninsula (Neo Chorio, Droushia, Kathikas) and try the local restaurants and wines.
-Petradaki restaurant in Kathikas.
Beaches
-The beach below the villa is within the villa grounds.
-Paradise beach, probably the most beautiful in Cyprus, is about 300m to the west of the house. You can reach this either by swimming, if you are a very good swimmer, or by road: take the road towards Paradise café, about 150m after Paradise café you will see on the sea side an earth road on the right (about 50m after the modern brown house ). Enter the earth road and park and walk down towards the beach. On the left you will see beautiful Paradise beach. Take the narrow and steep footpath down towards the beach
-Pomos harbour organized beach. There is also a refreshments kiosk.
-Pahyammos beach below St Raphael church (not organized)
-Argaka . Organised beach by Santa Barbara beach bar/restaurant. Avoid when windy ) north or west winds).
-Polis and Latsi organised beaches (about 20 min drive)
-Aphrodite’s baths beach. Mixed sand/pebbles but beautiful. You can also have lunch enjoying the views on the restaurant above the beach. Umbrellas and sunbeds available. You can get down by car (rather than the many steps), if you take the rather obscure dirt road just east of the restaurant
-Beaches along east of Akamas peninsula (blue lagoon, shipwreck,Cyprus world’s end etc ) by boat hire from Latsi (or by car along dangerous cliff edge after Aphrodite’s baths NOT recommended). Hire the boat for ½ a day as being in the sun the whole day is uncomfortable. Do NOT turn onto the west side of Akamas as the sea is choppy especially in the afternoon.
- Famous turtle birth area Lara Beach: drive from Polis to Peyia and then along the sea dirt road, or get lost in the wilderness trying to cross Akamas to reach Lara.
