The space

A 19th century blacksmiths forge, newly renovated into a lovely living space complete with fully-equipped kitchen, large living room area, bathroom with walk-in-shower and a cosy bedroom located on a mezzanine floor with access via a spiral staircase

The Forge offers a great location for a relaxing weekend in North Yorkshire.

Inside, you'll find a large lounge area, consisting of a huge sofa and armchair with a widescreen TV and DVD player. In the kitchen, you'll find a new oven and microwave, dishwasher, fridge and sink as well as all the equipment you'll need for home-cooked meals, including table and chairs for a dining/breakfast area. The bathroom boasts a newly installed walk-in-shower and heated towel rail as well as all other necessities. The bedroom is accessed via an antique spiral staircase that gives access to a cosy mezzanine area complete with king-size bed.

The Forge is equipped with a new underfloor heating system that warms up in no time!

Original features of the blacksmiths have been maintained, including horseshoes, windows and a beautiful stone floor, offering a slice of history in Pickering!

The Forge can be accessed easily by car or bike, with space for parking outside. Only a short distance from walking routes or a short drive to the Moors and Whitby, the Forge is a great location for walking excursions and relaxing trips.

I'm happy to help guests with directions or finding anything they may require once arriving in Pickering. The Forge is a private building, so once the keys have been exchanged, guests will have exclusive use

The Forge is located on an idillic, quite street in Pickering with quick access to all areas of North Yorkshire via car.

Another added bonus is that the Forge is only a 2 minute walk from a nearby pub, The Buck Inn!

There are buses available but they don't run very often, so it's recommended to come in a car.

BT customers will be able to pick up BT Wifi. 3G/4G is also possible.

An amazing stay in a beautiful location and property. My partner loved it, and we celebrated our engagement in the perfect place for us. The only miner things it lacked for us was WiFi (or workable 3/4g) and a washing machine (for after those walks in the countryside). Other th…

We enjoyed our stay at the Forge. Great location with nice country pubs a short drive away. The overall cleanliness of the apartment could have been better and there were a few kitchen utensils that weren’t available e.g grater, masher. We couldn’t find a chopping board either bu…

We had a lovely stay in Sean’s cottage. Amazing part of Yorkshire, with nice walks. I can’t believe in previous reviews people had complaints about the noise, it was so quiet! Perfect gateway for a romantic weekend away. The only issue was the heat from the under floor heating,…

Great little place to stop for a relaxing weekend (helped by a very comfy sofa and bed!) Lovely pub just round the corner (the Buck Inn). We had a steady walk to Pickering (45 mins) then got to the train to Whitby and also drove to Scarborough but plenty of other options of place…

The Old Forge is a beautifully quaint cottage in a peaceful little village. The cottage was clean and tidy and the village was quiet, perfect for morning strolls with our dog. I also cannot fault Sean for his recommendations for walks and pubs in the local area. He was always ver…
