The space
Beachside Haven, located on the beautiful Northumberland Strait. Stunning views and spectacular sandy beach steps out your door perfect for swimming and sandcastles.
Guests can enjoy kayaking, nearby hiking trails, biking, clam digging, walks on the beach.
Or Relax on your spacious balcony, which includes a large barbecue as you enjoy stunning views or listening to the sound of the ocean waves. Also, many of our guest's favourite entertainment is watching the seals at low tide basking on the rocks.

Finish your day with a cozy campfire under the stars or enjoy the fantastic sunsets !!

Closest grocery store Montague 20 minutes away there is a Superstore and Sobeys. A smaller grocery store but still excellent is in Murray Harbour 15 minutes away Butlers Clover.

Looking for a quick bite...Lady Slipper Express located at the Wood Islands Welcome Center. Wood Islands Seafood and takeout it is left of the ferry terminal both less than five minutes away.

How to get to the beach...please follow lane down to the beach. Stay to the right of the lane.
Are the kayak's and bikes included in the rental ? .... yes they are, it is mandatory to wear life jackets with the kayak's are provided, and a kayak carries... Note as well please, the kayak's are adult size !! And helmet's are supplied with the bikes.

Are there sand toys for the kids and are there beach chairs? .....Yes, we provide sand toys, beach chairs, an umbrella.

Beach Towels...beach towels are provided.
Is the water safe to drink ? ..... Yes, it is on a private well, which is tested twice a year.

Do we provide Pac-play and high chairs for little ones ? ...... yes we do.

Where to buy fresh seafood?
Wood Islands Seafood Takeout, located next to the Ferry Terminal in Wood Islands.
Seafood retail: live lobster, clams mussels, oysters, quahogs, scallops. Fresh and frozen: haddock, salmon, mackerel, cod, hake, and halibut.
Takeout has cooked lobster, homemade seafood chowder, steamed clams and mussels, hot lobster rolls, lobster and crab sandwiches, and scallop burgers. Open from July 1st to Sept 2nd.

The Gateway to eastern PEI." Plough The Waves", Wood Islands. Keep right as you head up the hill after disembarking from the ferry, whether it's your first PEI visit or a "Welcome home" experience. Our authentic heritage-themed buildings make a great first impression: Visitor Information Center (PEI Tourism); Sweet Factory (candy, ice cream, and souvenir store); Lady Slipper Express (restaurant) in our quaint replica train station; Pure PEI Island Gold Honey; cold beer and liquor store with ice for coolers; new Commissary with provisions you might need; and our artisan woodworker. Picnic tables and shelter area in lovely gardens. Start the Confederation Trail ( Walking or Biking).
The Wood Islands Lighthouse, built-in 1876, has a fifty-four-foot square tower still attached to a two-story, six-bedroom home. Touring PEI's most family-friendly, interactive museum with eleven themed rooms will keep everyone entertained. The interpretive room will enlighten lighthouse lovers. Be intrigued by the tales of the double lives of rum-runners in the original parlour. The array of sea glass colours in the Coastal Room is mesmerizing. Let imaginations sail while watching leaping flames in the ghost ship loft. Continue to the tower top and be amazed by the stunning 360 views.




Wood Islands boost's the Rossignol Winery, gorgeous vineyard, amazing sand sculptures. Here you will be able to taste the wines and tour the winery. Beyond the vine sits a small orchard that houses a gazebo reminiscent of a Secret Garden. The wine itself is just as delicious as the landscape and the Island's best.

Wood Islands Seafood Takeout... Family owned and operated by a 5th generation fishing family. Located at the Fisherman's Wharf within sight of the Lighthouse museum and park. Right next to the ferry dock at Wood Islands.
Sit at the picnic tables and enjoy freshly cooked lobster, mussels, soft-shelled clams (steamers), seafood chowder, crab cakes and scallop burgers: order hot or cold crab and lobster rolls or sandwiches. Also, enjoy oysters on the half shell.

Northumberland Park !! A campsite on the beach. Many people choose to stay for a night or two at the beginning or end of their visit to PEI. Cliff swallows burrowing nests along the shore are of particular interest. Children's programs and supervised swimming are available.

Right on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean, friendly staff, seals on the rocks, lifeguards, Kids play area, laundry facilitates, washrooms. And less than 5 minutes from the ferry.

Kings Castle, It's an excellent park for kids. Multiple play structures, including a wooden fort with lookout tower, 3-story metal climbing structure with slides, statues of fairy-tale characters and more. Lots of play spaces for children and small trails have fairy-tale figures.


The crown jewel of Montague is the Waterfront area on the Montague River. With shops, tourist information, a marina, and outdoor concert venue it is a showcase for the festivals and activities that occur in Montague. The Waterfront area is a large part of the history of the Town with its wooden boardwalk, original train turnstile remnants, and magnificent views it is a magnet for locals and tourists that pays homage to the history of the area.

Spend some time getting to know the area by checking out our shopping, our restaurants, and the Art Trail, which is a walk about the streets showcasing many artists that commissioned pieces to celebrate the history, culture, and diversity of the Montague area.
