Hear the sea breeze in the cedar trees, take in the clean ocean air and enjoy all the treasures of the Outer Banks while visiting the Chill Beach & Surf Bungalow. You'll live the OBX lifestyle and feel like a local resident at our central location and spacious back yard that are safe and private. Imagine the tranquility you will feel, like us, as you drift away into a mellow mood in the relaxing and cozy bungalow. Best after a beach day, surf or to enjoy a tasty summer grill session.

The space

Welcome to Live Swell Beach Bungalows where our mission is to open the doors to the surfing lifestyle for travelers who dream about life near the ocean + waves, like us!

This beach house was built in 1982 as a 950 sqft beach bungalow that includes a second level loft. It sits on a private and decent cut of property in a safe cul de sac. The space is ideal for a small group of friends, a couple or a family. While 5 guests seem to be ideal we can accommodate up to 6 people.

Since we have had the Bungalow we have completed a lot of upgrades to the home that our guests love. The large outdoor shower with exposed galvanized pipe and oversized rain-shower head is soothing and feels amazing after the beach. When the weather is right for it, the french doors open up completely to the front deck which add an airy flow and the feel of and indoor-outdoor living space. The kitchen was themed with a Nautical look, open cabinets and contains most of the necessities for the group chefs.

Our favorite hang out area is the living room because it has an open set-up, vaulted ceilings and a BigAss Haiku Fan - which feels like a a hypnotic helicopter propeller.

Another guest favorite is the bungalow's outdoor space. Whether it's starting the day rocking away on the front deck with a piping hot morning coffee or chilling out and grilling in our backyard, the bungalow has the perfect outdoor living space to enjoy those amazing sunny OBX days. Your kids and four legged friends will love the big back yard and you'll also love the safety that being in a family friendly cul de sac brings.

We were made very welcome by Michael and his other helpers. It was the most organised Airbnb we have ever stayed in with a wrath of information shared with us to assist our stay. The space is comfortable and kitchen well stocked. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend their place to anyone

My classmates and I had a great time at the chill beach and surf bungalow. Close to most amenities, we especially enjoyed being able to walk and bike to the beach. The house was fully equipped, and the backyard and hammock were enjoyed by all. Thanks for everything.

This is a cute place pretty close to the beach and restaurants. Grill was dirty and only half worked but really I'm mainly knocking this place for inability to use the yard. A dog in the back neighbors yard was so aggressive and barked continuously and threw himself against the fence. We booked this place mainly because we had our dog and needed a place to let him hang out.

We enjoyed out stay with our whole family, including our fur family. We had a couple of rainy days, where we got a late start, thankfully there was the luxury of Roku so our son could enjoy Finding Dory (for the 100th time) on Netflix. The house itself was extremely cozy, and made us want to stay longer. The kitchen had just about everything we needed and everything was easy to locate. We are a big grilling family and used it just about everyday. We didn't want to leave !! The outdoor shower was among one of the many things that stood out for us, it has inspired us to build one in our current home next spring. We really enjoyed the Country Deli for Sandwiches( left menu in drawer), Stack em High pancakes, Black Pelican (Guy Fieri visited there from Triple D on the Food Network) the crab cakes were delicious, and Duck Donuts were defiantly a treat. (Bacon maple to die for) Pros Publix and Mini golf on end of street Biking distance to beach (beach cruisers available) Outdoor shower Grill New washer and dryer 2 queen sized beds 1 futon Close to various restaurants Roku with Netflix and Hulu Close to major attractions like light house , wright museum, tanger outlets, Front and back decks Cons No fence for fur family (we brought long leashes)

We just left Michael and Maria's wonderful Chill Beach House. The house was described accurately....not perfect but perfect for what we needed. First, everything is super clean. I never take for granted that I will show up at a rental and not have to clean something. So walking into a spotless house was a great first impression. Second, the house is indeed chill which for us meant it's tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. No noisy neighbors, quiet street. You couldn't pay me to stay in one of the condos right on the beach. I like my quiet. Another nice surprise was that I was expecting the top bedrooms to be in an open area since they were described as being a "loft". These are honest to goodness bedroom with doors and all. Closet space is limited but you're pretty much living in swimsuits, t-shirts and shorts so who cares. More than enough kitchen equipment to whip up about anything you would want to fix. Also very nice that things like dish soap, paper towels, hand soap, a few Tide pods and toilet paper were provided. With so much competition in the OBX rental market, it truly is these little things that make a difference. Thanks Michael and Maria!

We loved staying at the bungalow. The description is very accurate. It is comfortable for a family of four. It is located in a nice quite family neighborhood, and is close to so many places to visit. We enjoyed our vacation and have memories that will stay with us all for a lifetime. Well recommended.

I am a active and curious person that loves to travel, enjoy surfing, live by the beach and learn. I think there is something magical about being in coastal regions so I like to spend a lot of my time there. I hope you do to!

With interest in coastal living and experience in real estate investing, my girlfriend, Maria - who helps host, and I decided to get ourselves into a project. We decided to renovate a bungalow in the Outer Banks of North Carolina to restore its beauty and charm. We knew we would spend time there with our family and friends, because we love the area, but did not realize how much our guests would like it or the impact it could have for them.

We have had so much fun and become very passionate about creating outstanding guest stays, unique experiences and making more of an impact. Since our first bungalow we have grown to cover both coasts and add more places to stay.

My favorite time of year in the OBX is the fall when the weather is beautiful, the fishing is great, crowds are down and the surfs up.

As a host: I am super easy going, I do travel a lot for work yet do have great people to help.

As a guest: Super laid back and low maintenance

Favorite Destinations: California, Baja Mexico, Guancaste Costa Rica, Spain, Peru, Long Island NY, Outer Banks NC, San Diego.

Things I could not live without:
1. Good friends and family relationships
2. A beach house, grill, fireplace and surfboards
