This Airbnb is perfectly located to explore the National Park as well as other preserves and wildlife refuges in southwest Florida. Everglades City is a tiny little town literally at the end of the road (well almost!!! Chokoloskee actually claims that title just 3 miles further south!).

Or just open the curtains to enjoy the Florida sunshine and amazing sunsets in air conditioned comfort. The kitchen is equipped with plates, pots/ pans and utensils so you can cook your own meals. Or you can walk to several local restaurants. Although not shown in the photo, there is now a flat screen TV in the living room.

In addition to the apartment, guests also have access to the back yard with patio and hammock.
Interaction with guests
I have lived in Southwest Florida since 2002 and have worked, played and volunteered in various Parks and Preserves in the area during that time. I am more than happy to share my experiences and suggest kayaking trips, hiking adventures and swamp walks. Just ask!
I do have a busy schedule, so if I cannot meet you in person, I will do everything I can to make sure you are well prepared for your visit and that all of your needs are taken care of while you are here.
Other things to note
Once you book your reservation, make sure you follow the directions to the house posted on Airbnb. Some navigation systems will take you to the wrong house! Your phone and/or internet service may be spotty once you get into the Everglades, so you may want to print or save the directions before you begin your drive to Everglades City.
- Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Smoking is allowed on the front porch or in the back yard.
From Feb 8 - Sep 30, 2017 the minimum stay is 1 night.

I first visited Everglades City in January of 2002 and was only supposed to stay a month. Well, that was 14 years ago. All I can say is WOW! this place never ceases to amaze me. I have worked, volunteered and played in many places in this area. If you like, I will share my experiences and suggest adventures on and off the beaten path....kayaking in the Everglades, hiking in the Big Cypress, swamp walking in the Fakahatchee....
