4-story house on a charming plaza. Reversible AC/heat, double-paned windows, new appliances, and other modern touches blend with ancient stone walls that date from the 12th century.
Very centrally located, on the main plaza of La Roquette, in the middle of Arles centre. Easy, walkable access to everything.
140 square meters on four floors, plus a wine cave of 30 square meters and a terrace of 17 square meters. Fully equipped, with everything you need to feel at home in Arles.
Our home away from home, we love escaping here as often as we can. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do.
Notre maison c'est votre maison. Please treat it well, and enjoy your stay. Please, no parties or outside guests other than those pre-approved.
Interaction with guests
Our local partner will ensure your stay goes smoothly. We're in San Francisco, but we're available by phone, text, and email. Please don't hesitate to contact us, we love to hear from people staying at our place. In addition, our friends in Arles may be able to assist.
Other things to note
Please note that the upper two spiral stair cases of stone are hundreds of years old. They may be difficult to navigate for some, especially if you have weak knees. In addition, although the ground-floor staircases are more accessible (from the ground floor to the cave and from the ground floor to the first floor), they could be very dangerous for an unsupervised infant or toddler. You are welcome to stay with children (the upper bedroom belongs to our toddler), but you do so at your own risk. Children must be carefully supervised -- 100% supervision at all times.
Also watch your head when entering the master bathroom--the doorway and the first large rafter are less than 1.8 meters from the floor.
No smoking, except on the terrace or outside the house on the Place Paul Doumer.
The house is not suitable for young children (the stairs are very steep and the terrace is relatively open).
Please do not bring animals, as one of the people who lives in the house has a pet allergy.
No parties, nor outside guests not pre-approved.
No candles inside.
Feel free to use the air conditioners, but please remember to turn them off before you leave. If you need to switch from air conditioning to heat, or from heat to air conditioning, please start with air conditioning unit in the top-most bedroom and work your way down (you can switch to heat or A/C by sliding the panel back on the remote control and pressing the "mode" button until you reach the desired setting).
Please do NOT close the wooden shutters. They are very old and likely to break. The bedroom windows may be opened completely by turning the handle clockwise to 6 o'clock, or partially by turning the handle counter-clockwise to noon. To open the left-side window, pull the metal lever down. Please remember to close the windows before leaving the house, if it rains, and before checking out.
Finally, please lock the door and drop the key in the mailbox slot in the front door when you leave. Thanks for the visit!
