The home is located in a beautiful area, close to Crystal Mountain, with great hiking and views of Mt Rainer. Seattle was about 1-1/2 hours away. The reason for the poor review is the smell and lack of cleanliness. The carpet was filthy, even the rugs on top were dirty and had crushed spiders on them. I got the impression the home hadn't been cleaned for quite some time. The linens/towel were also smelly and the basement had a spider problem. One of the beds in the basement had a huge stain on the sheets. I really don't like to give poor reviews but I don't want anyone else to have the same experience we did. We ended up leaving early to stay in a hotel!

The Alpencommune is a charming cabin set in the woods adjacent to the White River, which murmurs pleasantly in the background. While the cabin is in good condition and well kept up, it has its challenges: there's no TV reception (difficult with my sports-oriented family wanting to watch soccer, tennis etc.) - and with the minimal WiFi capability and no cell reception, we felt fairly isolated. As the kitchen is quite small, it was difficult for more than a couple of people to be there at the same time. Speaking of size, tall folks need to be cognizant of low areas while walking around inside; we had more than a few near-misses of conking our heads on doorways and ceiling beams. Overall we had a very nice visit, and the cabin served our basic needs.

Visited there with our kids and a small dog. The kids loved the play area. We loved the deck with the grill. The location is perfect for Mt Rainier and all the amazing trails around the area.

Abigail provided a lot of great information prior to arrival, such that we did not have any logistical issues. The chalet itself is beautiful, and the location right by the river is perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back.

We had a lovely four day mini vacation over Thanksgiving at Alpencommune. The setting is beautiful -in the woods on the edge of White River. Some of us enjoyed hiking on the nearby trails, some went skiing at Crystal, and some just chilled! One disappointment; there was a big TV but there was no cable service. We had hoped to watch some football - especially the Seahawks- so that was a no-go. The hot tub was usable, but it does need some work. The beds were very comfortable and the large dining table was great for family meals. We will definitely consider returning for another stay!
