You can disappear here! No one will find you until you are ready to come out! The cabin is off the grid, with modern conveniences.

The space
UPDATE: In light of the current situation with this year’s strain of the flu virus (Corona), and the fear that seems to be spreading, we wanted to give you some assurances about your upcoming reservation at Cabin Creek.
Terry and I thoroughly clean the cabin ourselves (No “Cleaning Staff”) in preparation for your arrival, treating ALL surfaces with anti-bacterial cleaners, including our mattress pad & pillow covers. We have always cleaned this way, and we really have the cleanest, safest, and most secure accommodations anywhere to be found. When you come to our 100 acre private forest, you and your party are the only ones there, so you don’t have to come in contact with anyone else.
Your vacation stay here at Cabin Creek continues to offer what few other destinations can: No people, no corona virus, and no worries!
The space is 100 Acres of private forest!

When you come inside, you'll be able to relax in the CLEANEST cabin in the woods! We thoroughly clean all the way through the cabin ourselves for each guest party, wiping down all surfaces & fixtures with anti-bacterial disinfectant wipes & spray. Past guests often comment on our exceptional cleanliness, so we know it will be as important to you as it is to us.

The off-grid cabin is lit by old fashioned oil lamps for a soft, romantic glow, but also has convenient 12V solar powered lights. The LP gas fireplace is perfect for relaxing in the evening, getting cozy on the couch, or enjoying the view from the comfortable double bed. The beauty of the forest streams in with the sunlight through the large bank of windows. Morning coffee and evening toddies are accompanied by the sound of birds singing and chipmunks scurrying in the woods. Everything tastes better out on the large covered deck, which is perfect for grilling as the sun goes down! Even during a passing summer shower, the soft patter of the raindrops on the tin roof is so peaceful! We love coming here to be alone, and we know you will too!
LP gas powers the hot shower, cook stove, half-size refrigerator, and fireplace. The bathroom is complete with a natural composting toilet, gravity fed hot shower, towels, body wash, and shampoo. The kitchen comes furnished with a percolating coffee pot, plates, cups, mugs, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
The covered deck is furnished with a charcoal grill and patio set.
The fire ring is just a few yards from the cabin. Firewood is available for purchase, or forage for your own close by.
NOTE: December 1 - April 14 this is a 3/4 mile hike-in or drop camp. Between the terrain and the winter weather, there is a chance you won't be able to drive your vehicle in, but you can park it at our farm. The cabin is dry due to exposed plumbing, but we provide a camp shower, and water is brought in to the cabin for you!
Note: During our Winter Wilderness Drop Camp Season (December 1 - April 14), the cabin is dry, meaning that there is no running water in the cabin. Water is hauled in for you, with dispensers placed in the kitchen & bathroom. A 12 volt camp shower is provided in the bathroom, and water is heated on the stove. Our composting toilet is unaffected by winter weather.

Guest access
With rental of the Hide-Away property, guests have use of the cabin on the 20 acre high-elevation forested plateau situated on the North rim of the Cabin Creek Ravine. Guests also have access to hiking trails all across the 100 acre forest property.
Note: December 1 - April 10 is our Winter Wilderness Drop Camp Season. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to drive your vehicle closer than 1/2 mile to the cabin site due to snow depths & terrain. On your arrival, we can take your luggage & supplies in and out for you with our machines, so you don't have to pack everything in. The breathtaking scenery of the winter snow on the high elevation hemlocks surrounding the cabin make the inconvenience of reaching this remote location well worth it! Come and discover just how much fun it is being snowed in with the one you love!

Other things to note
Guests need to bring their own bedding for full size (double) bed.
12V solar power will not power appliances such as electric fans, CPAP machines, etc.

The best part about the neighborhood is that you are deep in the forest at high elevation! There are no neighbors! We deliver a wonderful experience in a rugged area that is sparsely populated and seldom traveled.
We like to joke that the Cabin Creek night-life is dominated by the wildlife... but that's no joke! In addition to the ever-present squirrels, chip monks & racoon, it is very common to see deer and wild turkey in our forest. The yipping-howls of coyotes are commonly heard after dark while guests sit around the campfire, and seldom-seen bobcats can be heard calling in the night several times a year. Very rare pine martin have been spotted on the property, along with bald eagles & great horned owls. Bears do frequent our area, coming from the 7,700 acre wildlife management area across the valley. Believe us or not, guests originally from Montana reported hearing Timber Wolf howls. Then during the 2015 deer season, an Eastern Timber Wolf was observed as it passed by 2 different tree stands, judging by its extreme size and near-black color (Later in January, long, low howls were heard along the base of the ridge. Definitely not coyotes!). So if you're looking for an experience in a wild area... this is as wild as it gets in the entire Northeast!

Hi! I'm Terry, and I'd like to invite you to Cabin Creek Getaway! My husband and I purchased the 100 acre property for our family's recreational use a few years ago, and built our beautiful cabin on it. Our friends enjoyed visiting to go hunting, hiking, four-wheeling, and camping so much, that we thought we'd extend an invitation to you! We enjoy our professional lives, and our small farm, but Cabin Creek offers a completely different environment close to home, that takes us far away! We absolutely love the beautiful ridges, deep woods, cascading stream, and all the wildlife! We think you will too!
