A pleasant home, with lovely sunroom, gardens, and amenities for your stay. Visiting wildlife, paths on property. 5 minute drive to Acadia National Park's Schoodic Section. Galleries, artist studios, & Restaurants in the area. Pleasantly uncrowded hiking trails nearby of varying degrees of difficulty, several music venues ongoing through out the summer, pristine lakes for that refreshing swim - and so much more .

The space
What you find here is a lovely home nestled within gardens and surrounded by many forested acres. The location is less then a half mile from the light house you see in the photos section. The home is an 7 or 8 minute walk (less than a tenth of a mile drive) to one of the few sand beaches in this area if a brisk swim in the Atlantic Ocean is your cup of tea. A 5 minute drive (less than 5 miles) brings you to Acadia National Park's Schoodic Section, a truly beautiful gem of over three thousand acres. Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park is a spectacular peninsula jutting out into the Atlantic. Bold rocky coast, several miles of hiking trails, and 8 miles of maintained bike paths in this part of Acadia for you to explore. Ideal for a picnic on the rocks at the shore or a day of hiking if that is your pleasure.

If you find sleeping with full moon shining in the window or a view to the star filled sky on a moonless night, or an early sunrise troubling, you may want to bring an eye mask for those bright mornings. There are no curtains over your bed.

Guest access
My home is yours for your stay. The full large living room, large sunroom, kitchen, your bedroom, open deck to the front, small screened in porch to the back shady side of the house, all grounds, gardens, with paths on this property, well marked trails nearby, miles of bike trails and hiking paths at the Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park, as well as many other choices for hikes on other Preserve Lands - for which there are links online. I have several suggestions printed out for you in the notebook here at the house for your convenience.

Do review the photos. The snow images are for fun. The house and grounds are yours during your stay. The barn/garage are locked and not accessible. A gardener may be on site a couple of hours a week during mid day. If that is something you would rather not occur during your stay, I can be sure to reschedule. Just let me know.

Other things to note
The refrigerator and pantry will be stocked with fresh organic eggs from my neighbor's "happy chickens" along with a few other breakfast type items. There is a grocery store 5 miles away, ample staples in the cupboards, an organic farm, and a few restaurants nearby.

I am available any time you have questions, with a simple text. :-)

The Peninsula is made up of several smaller fishing villages where people have lived by the sea and their own efforts for many generations. It is also a haven for artists, craftspeople, and writers who chose this area for its unsurpassed beauty and relative peacefulness, away from the hubbub of more crowded areas.
