An excellent place to stay, very clean and comfortable. Kota is a good host, nice, helpful and responsive. We used the bikes to go Kinkaku-ji and nearby temples, which have ample parking for bikes. We used the buses to get to Gion, Ginkaku-ji, Kiyomizu Dera and Fushimi Inari, etc. There is a bakery, coffee shop and convenience store nearby. Highly recommended!

Kota is the best Airbnb host ever! It was very easy to find the apartment using his detailed instructions. When I arrived, he immediately got me set up with a bike, and a few minutes later I was out cycling around Kyoto. Kota made sure that I had everything I needed in the apartment, but he also genuinely cared that I had a great experience in Kyoto. He gave me helpful advice about how to bike safely, where to find fantastic food, and, once he learned that I'm interested in music, he even introduced me to the underground music scene in Kyoto. I would love to be Kota's guest again in the future!

A great little spot super close to a bus stop which really opens up the city. Room was really clean and the bed/futon comfy for a few nights. There is not a lot of privacy with the shower so best to share with people you are really comfortable with. Kota was extremely helpful and booked an early morning taxi me which I was really grateful for! Really enjoyed our stay, thank-you.

Where to begin with this listing? Well, I'll lead with: easily the best place to stay in Kyoto for 3 reasons! 1. Wonderful location to the Golden Pavilion and many, many other shrines and temples. 2. Exemplary communication from the Host Kota. He not only let us check in early, but also allowed us to leave our bags for an extra hour after checkout to squeeze in one for temple sighting! 3. Having access to bikes made traveling further and faster a breeze. Kota as a host was great since he was happy to offer suggestions on where to eat and go for sightseeing. He also suggested a neighborhood bath house that I'm really glad I went to try out. Kota was awesome! I already know that when we return to Kyoto, I'll make sure Kota's place is available!

Kota was a very nice host, speaks good English and has great suggestions for cafes, music venues and restaurants to go to. There were surprisingly nice places to eat and drink around the apt. You can borrow bikes, very good ones actually. We cycled all over town, it is not too hilly and Kyoto has good paths for cycling on the main road. As long as you realize beforehand (like we did) the apt has a shared Japanese style toilet and is quite noisy because it is next to the street, and you don't have a problem with that, it's a great place to stay. Matrass was a bit hard for a couple of days, but the two of us are not so 'light' ;) so it is probably ok for other people.

Awesome place! Kota was a great host. Anything we needed he was there to help. It's not close to the center of Kyoto, but the bus system is very easy to use. The bus stop is a block away. The temples and shrines were all very close to the home. The first day we actually used bikes (Kota provides them if you stay at the apartment) to get around different temples. If you are staying in Kyoto during spring or summer I highly suggest using the bikes that come with apartment to get around. Wifi in the apartment was great. I highly suggest getting a pocket wifi while in Kyoto. Kota helped us order ours while we were there. All in all awesome apartment and a great host. Definitely book this place if you have the chance!!
