This is a lovely house in a wonderful location. The house is beautifully appointed, and has a bright and open feel. The pictures on the listing don't really do it justice; it is nicer and perhaps larger than you might gather from those. The bedrooms are very nice, one is perfect for two adults and the other two are wonderful for a single person each. The kitchen is good and features a nice breakfast nook. The location is fabulous. A short walk to the bay, where you can walk along the water (or run along the paved path), and the very nice Park St shopping/dining area is very close by. Also very easy access to the 880 freeway, which gets you to the Bay Bridge to SF, or to other locales in the East Bay (also very close to Oakland airport). The hosts provide a very helpful guide to Alameda. In addition to their excellent recommendations, we would add these (all within four blocks on Park): Mama Papa Lithuania is a fabulous Lithuanian restaurant (we want to go back!), Red Onion is great for breakfast, seems really well run, and Injera is a brand new, very good Ethiopian restaurant. You could easily dine out at a different place every day for a week on Park St without running out of great options. Very nice, highly recommended and would stay here again!

Hi! I am a working mom of two gorgeous children 12 and 9. I do life and leadership coaching for moms seeking work/life balance and specialize in helping people develop sustainable careers in the non-profit sector or in social entrepreneurship. My husband is originally from Spain, so that is where we often travel, but we love to get out and explore as much as we can. I occasionally travel for conferences, speaking engagements and retreats with and without my children and family. When not working or taking care of the kiddos, I love dance and theater and savoring a moment to read in a cafe.
